Loki had been traveling the Nine realms and planets beyond that after his supposed death. Taking in all the sights, training in every aspect until he was ready to join the fight with Thor again. The prospect of fighting Thanos terrified him, remembering how last time he attempted to kill him he was met with a large purple hand squeezing the life out of him. Loki was lucky to have survived, to him it was a miracle and fate that he was still alive. Even if fate told him that he was destined to live longer, he tossed and turned during the night, head full of nightmares, flashes of his past with Thanos repeating like a broken movie reel. He'd wake up in a cold sweat, clenching the blanket with an iron grip in attempt to calm himself down. Most nights were like that. To Loki, it was a familiar torture.
Loki awoke one morning, descending down the stairs to eat breakfast only to find the innkeeper gone. He figured she must have been cooking for today's meal until he noticed a pile of thick ash settled on the ground. Loki knelt down in front of it, pinching some of the ash between his fingers to figure out what it was.
The realisation came to him and he stumbled back in horror, frantically looking around to see if there were other piles of ash in the inn. He stood up and burst through the door, hearing the wailing of mourning citizens who were kneeling in front of piles of ashes. His fears were confirmed. Thanos had succeeded in collecting all of the infinity stones and achieved his goal. Loki's heart pounded in his chest, the fear creeping up behind him to try to force him into a state of panic. He blinked away the traumatic memories that the fear brought up, slamming a hand on the doorframe to steady himself. He looked down towards the ground, trying to block out the sounds of mourning as countless citizens turned into ash. The ashing only lasted for a few minutes, but Loki felt like that time would never pass. He let out a shaky breath before regaining his posture and began walking down the empty road. His peripheral vision kept catching on the piles of ash that accumulated over these past few minutes, a heavy guilt building up on his back. He helped Thanos get the Tesseract. He scolded himself for even taking it back on Asgard. It was his fault that he led Thanos directly to it. He grit his teeth and kept walking. It was a guilt he would have to carry. Loki straightened his back and continued walking. This planet was no longer any use to him anyway. It was time to visit another.

You yelled out as you struck the combatant, replacing your fist with a kick as you swept the floor to release a burst of air to push your opponent away. You said a small 'heh' to yourself before rushing towards them, taking the moisture from the air, and releasing a bout of ice spikes towards them. The person yelped and you heard a sharp 'enough!' come from the side. A sigh left your mouth and the ice melted into small droplets, soaking your opponent.
"C'mon, it was just getting good!" you complained, throwing your hands in the air in exasperation.
"Your sibling would say otherwise," your teacher sighed. She pointed towards your sibling who was slightly shaking in fear. "Come on, Wen!" your teacher barked. "An 18 century old shouldn't be so afraid of some ice spikes, you could have easily melted them with fire." She poked Wen and they yelped, snapping out of the temporary fear. They looked down to their clothing and muttered a small ugh after realising they were wet.
"Sorry, Tashi... I froze up again, didn't I," Wen pouted.
"You would have been frozen a different way anyway!" you laughed. Tashi threw her shoe at you, hitting you in the back of your head. "A-" you rubbed the back of your head and snapped your neck towards Tashi to glare at her.
"Stop being so arrogant! You're the empress' son for goodness sake," Tashi snapped. "You're better than most professionals but you still have some potential, stop wasting your time gloating about it." You sighed and nodded. She was right after all. You wrapped the bandages around your wrists one more time and turned towards her with determination.
"Should I go again then?" you asked. "But this time against you, I haven't done it in a while," you gave Tashi a mischievous smile and she rolled her eyes. She took off her jacket, revealing her muscular biceps, flexing as she tied her long black hair up in a bun. It was more for intimidation than anything but Tashi was always proud of her muscles. After all, she spent over 5 millennium training. She looked at Wen and motioned for them to sit where she was sitting earlier.
"Pay close attention, Wen, if you follow my teachings closely, then you can beat your brother as easily as I can," Tashi said, tossing the jacket into Wen's arms. She stood across from you and positioned herself in a fighting stance. "You ready?" she smirked. You had to say in the least you were a little intimidated. You swallowed with nervousness, adam's apple bobbing as you did that.
"I'm going to get my ass kicked," you thought to yourself. You heard the palace courier run into the arena, out of breath. You silently thanked the gods for this interruption.
"What is it?" Tashi asked calmly. "You seem like you were in a hurry." Your eyes darted to her for a moment and you attempted to move from your spot only to be stopped by the very earth itself. It took hold of your feet while you weren't looking and scowled at Tashi. She didn't have to move a muscle to trap you and you knew she could beat you to a pulp by lifting a finger.
"The empress has requested all of you to report to the throne room, there's a visitor from the outside."
"Outside? I thought it was difficult for otherworlders to come in," Wen asked from the spectator's area.
"Well, this one managed to get in," the courier said. He straightened himself up and looked a little less of a mess. "He doesn't seem to be a hostile either." You and Wen looked at each other before looking back to the courier. You slipped out of the earth that was encasing your feet earlier and raced out the door with Wen right next to you with their staff. You ran while they decided to soar above you, pushing the air to create an effective wind current to speed ahead of you. You created an air funnel around yourself to launch you towards the palace doors, sticking your tongue out at Wen as you passed by them. That was cut short as you landed on the palace steps, somersaulting sloppily from the impact.
"Hah! Beat you!" you said, ignoring the fact that you collided into solid stone. "I may have hit my head," you said, wincing at the pain. Wen landed next to you and punched you in the shoulder.
"Can't beat me into the throne room though," Wen joked before bursting into a sprint and entering the doors. You ran after them and grabbed them before they entered the throne room.
"Let's enter at the same time, we're meeting an outsider after all. Plus," you whispered. "Mom will be mad if we just run in like children."
"Well, you are 24, old man," Wen smirked.
"Yeah, so let's not act like kids for once," you said with seriousness. Wen nodded, understanding your point and the two of you entered the throne room. You notice the visitor sitting in front of your mother. He turned and locked eyes with you for just a moment. You swore you felt your heart skip as you met his eyes.
