The building is a lot larger than you originally thought, almost larger than the castle back on Asgard. It's adorned with the usual Norse decor, but the architecture seems more Midgardian than Asgardian. The building resembles a skyscraper, where the bottom is wider and larger than the upper portion, where the upper portion reaches high into the sky, disappearing into the clouds. Light reflects off of the golden panels that cover this building, the shine slowly fading away as the sun begins to set. You look towards the giant doors and Loki motions you to come forward.
"Kinda looks like a Midgardian hotel, doesn't it?" Loki comments. He opens the doors to reveal a large banquet hall, large glass tables carrying Asgardian food are scattered about, the back of the banquet hall is lined with large glass panels, revealing a large balcony, overlooking a gigantic pool that you have never seen before. You walk in with awe, surprised with how different this building was compared to Asgard's castle. Warriors from all over the 9 realms sit at the tables, laughing and eating, singing merry songs as if they were happy about being dead.
"Loki, my dear, is that (y/n)?" a woman's voice calls out from the balcony. You immediately recognise the voice and walk swiftly towards her before breaking out into a run. Loki chuckles to himself as he sees you run, elated over the fact you are so excited to see his mother.
"Mother!" you smile as you run into her arms. She envelops you in a hug and laughs.
"Oh, how I missed you, (y/n)," Frigga sighs, letting you go. "I was worried you wouldn't enter Valhalla, Loki would have gone to Helheim and bargained with Hela to bring you back if you didn't make it here." She places her hands in front of her and lets out a breath of relief. "Oh, you must be famished, Loki, come get something for your spouse." She motions you to sit down at an outdoor table and you do. Loki comes back with some food and sits in a chair between you and Frigga. He conjures up a martini for himself and laughs as you quirk a brow at him. He hands it to you and you take a sip before handing it back. It's something like you've never tasted before, it's cold, tangy, and fizzes in your mouth.
"It's a Sakaar classic," Loki winks. He sips the martini and leans back in his chair. He's really changed over the past few years. It's kind of... exhilarating. "Why are you looking at me like that?" Loki asks, you didn't realise you were looking at him with an amused look.
"Huh? Oh, just. You're different from when I first met you, and I really like that. You've done a lot of growing," you smile. "I'm just sad I didn't get to see all of it." Frigga gives you a warm smile and reaches over to squeeze your hand.
"I'm sure you're proud of him no matter what," Frigga then looks at Loki. "Loki, I've been able to see you grow ever since, well," she places a hand over her stomach where she was stabbed. "I'm very proud of the person you've become. I loved you then and I love you now, my son." Loki looks at Frigga with a grateful smile and emotions pool in his eyes. He lets out a contented sigh and picks up his martini again.
"As much as I love all this, I... worry for Thor. The last memory he has of me is me being strangled to death by that genocidal maniac."
A solemn silence falls on the table and you sat, you fold your hands and place them on your lap. You look down with a newfound fear and stay still. You take a deep breath in and exhale quickly. "What if we get the einherjar to fight Thanos?" you ask.
"I've thought about it while I've been here, but Valhalla was meant for Ragnarok," Loki replies, drinking the rest of his martini. He conjures up another one and downs it. "And Ragnarok already happened."
"But we're still here, that means we can fight. Thor is technically the king of Asgard, we're obligated to help him," you say. Frigga nods in understanding. She stands up and looks towards the banquet hall.
"If we're going to help Thor, we'll need all the einherjar," Frigga says. "And I know they'll listen to him."
"Him?"
"Odin, he's down on the beach somewhere, mother, I think he wants to walk with you," Loki waves his hand.
"Oh! I suppose I'll have to go then, I hope you two have fun here, there's lots to do and (y/n)?" Frigga says, looking towards you with a smile.
"Yes?"
"I'm happy to see you again."
"It's good to see you again, too." Frigga walked off after that, descending down the stairs and walking on the beach to meet a figure you assume is Odin. Loki taps your shoulder to get your attention and you meet his eyes once you turn around.
"Hi," Loki says softly.
"Hello, you," you reply. Loki doesn't hesitate to place a hand on your chin and pull your face towards him to kiss your lips. It's a soft kiss and you inhale, taking in the scent of mint, evergreen trees, and a lavender scent that seemed to come from his hair. That's new. He pulls back and takes your hand, guiding you to a ballroom.
As you enter, it seems his magic changed your clothing, a (f/c) and black formal outfit with golden bands engraved with Norse designs are now on you and you couldn't help but smile. The outfit resembled what you wore on your wedding day. When you look up at Loki, you see he's changed his attire as well. It was the same silken robe he wore on your wedding day, but instead of green with golden engravings, it was blue.
"I figured you'd like to dance after all these years," Loki says, a playful grin growing on his face.
"I'd love to, darling," you reply. You then take his hand and he guides you to the middle of the ballroom, an illusion being cast around the area to show exactly where you were on your wedding day. You look around as you waltz with awe, amazed at how strong Loki's magic had become.
It was exactly how you remembered it. A large courtyard with various amounts of Asgardian plants and flowers lining the stone laden platform. A large forest was surrounding the courtyard, the sound of birds chirping and the smell of rain. You had almost forgot, it was raining on your wedding day. But that never stopped you, Frigga had cast a barrier on the open courtyard that day, the rain only hitting the top of the barrier. You give a nostalgic smile to Loki.
Loki reciprocates the smile, a silent conversation going on between you as the two of you danced. He pulls you close and kisses you again, heart full of joy and a peace that Loki hadn't felt in a while. You give a quiet laugh and kiss him back. You rest your forehead upon his and look into his eyes. Even if it was raining, it felt like the sun was shining in both of your hearts. You part your lips and say quietly:
"Welcome home, Loki."
