"So I just watch you do your job?" you sighed.
"Yup, and I'll need to focus so I'll have to have you shut up."
"How about I just play Overwatch and stay quiet," you grumbled, sulking over to the couch.
"Works for me." The both of you were at Loki's house, a couple days after the plan commenced and Loki had given his house keys to Verity to access his computer. The screen turned on by itself and Verity cracked her knuckles. Loki's voice came from the screen.
You turned down the tv volume to listen. After a few minutes, the screen turned off and Verity got up and stretched.
"Well, that was fun," she said, grabbing her bag. She got up to leave and looked at you. "You coming?"
"Huh? Yeah," you replied, turning the tv off. She opened the door and the two of you headed to your separate homes.
A couple days passed before you decided to go to Loki's apartment and ask him out. You were prepared for rejection though. Relationships never really worked out with you anyway.
"So you found a guy?" Brant asked, his voice coming out through the phone.
"Yeah. He's uh, quirky and I like that," you replied. "We met through a friend I made at the speed dating thing and... I think he likes me." You held the phone up with your shoulder as you carried a large bag of groceries.
"Nice! I hope it goes well, (y/n)," Brant said. He hung up and you let the phone fall into the bag. You opened the door with your keys and entered your apartment, sighing as you set the grocery bag down.
"Hi." A familiar voice shocked you and made you jump, turning around with surprise.
"Loki? What are you doing here?" you asked. You then looked at the door. "How did you get in?!"
"Magic, of course," he chuckled, wiggling his fingers. He was in his normal Asgardian attire, horns and all. You noticed his left arm was hiding behind his back.
"Oh," you said. "Still uh, why are you here?" Loki gave a smile and brought out a bouquet of flowers.
"I believe when mortals attempt to court each other, they bring flowers," Loki said. "Except I think you were planning on bringing me flowers as well." He glanced over to the grocery bag and saw the yellow roses peeking out. Your face flushed and you rushed to the bag.
"UH," you said, quickly taking it out and placing it on the counter. "...Yeah." You rubbed your neck in embarrassment. "Those were meant for you."
"I can tell," he smirked. He stepped forward and set the flowers down on the counter. You realised your faces were very close to each other. "Tell me, why do you like me?"
"Um..." you bit your lip and blushed. "You're handsome and... honestly your personality is just amazing. And every time I speak to you, my chest tightens and your laugh is absolutely adorable and you just give me this feeling that is really... nice," you gushed. Your eyes wandered around and stopped at Loki who was smiling at you with a blush on his face.
"Good, then you won't mind if I do this." He leaned forward and pressed his lips upon yours. Your eyes widened in surprise and you quickly closed them as you kissed him back. His arms wrapped around you and pulled you closer, deepening the kiss. Loki then pulled away and smirked at you.
You could feel your heartbeat in your ears and your face was flushed red. Loki couldn't help but chuckle and smiled at you.
"How was that?" Loki asked.
"Amazing," you breathed. He then walked over to the sliding door. "Do you have to go?"
"I wanted to do this before I had to go on a mission," Loki replied. "But... When I'm not busy, how about a dinner date?"
"Yeah! Just...text me the details I guess." Loki then smiled and disappeared after opening the sliding door.
"...Holy shit."
