"So he's not actually dead?" you asked Verity. The two of you were on a walk and had been hanging out constantly ever since Loki's so called death.

"Yes, for the hundredth time," she replied with an annoyed tone, rolling her eyes. "Will you quit worrying? If you actually listened to the plan-"

"I wasn't meant to be there though. I was thrown into the mix, I'm not even helpful. I don't have powers like you."

"Look, having this power isn't fun. As much as being a lie detector seems pretty cool, it isn't," Verity snapped. You didn't say anything in response. She sighed.

"I wasn't envious, you know," you replied.

"I know."

"I just felt useless since I'm not all that special. It seems like to be a hero I guess these days is to either be really skilled at combat, be magical, or have some technology that makes you better than everyone." You kicked at a rock. "I mean, if I'm being honest, I was kinda just thrown into the fray. And I don't know either to be glad or scared."

"Thanks for being honest," Verity said. "Honestly, I didn't want to be a part of a... heist. I'm not that type of person to rob a bank or anything."

"Did he specify what type of heist? For all we know he could be trying to break into Asgard," you said.

"I haven't thought about that," she said. "I guess it's not that terrible then."

"Good, because we're having a meeting at my apartment," a familiar voice spoke up from behind. Both you and Verity turned around to see Loki, his hair a little disheveled and wearing a casual green hoodie. He took your hand and squeezed it.

"Good job on convincing Verity," he smirked. Your face flushed and you only nodded vigorously. Verity only chuckled and punched Loki in the shoulder.

"Kept us waiting long enough, huh?" Verity said.

"Yeah," Loki replied, reaching a hand behind his neck. "Was a little busy with some things I had to do."

The three of you then headed over to his apartment and had dinner once again. Loki said that it was going to take a while for the other guests to come so he let you play video games on his tv while he had a conversation with Verity.

"You sure (y/n) can't help at all?" Verity asked quietly. "He seems to really want to help out."

"He doesn't have any powers though," Loki said, his arms crossed.

"See! That's exactly what he was talking about earlier. How to be a hero you need powers or some technology to be one."

"I wouldn't exactly consider-"

"Look, Loki, I think (y/n) wants to be a part of this because he's your friend. He likes you enough to want to help you."

"What does that mean?"

"Doesn't matter right now! Just is he of any use for the heist?" Loki then sighed.

"All I can think of is have him stay with you and watch what you do," Loki said, covering his face with his hand.

"Sounds good to me," you said all of a sudden. The two peered from the kitchen.

"You heard all that?" Loki asked.

"Yeah."

"Why didn't you say anything?"

"To busy focused on playing Overwatch. How are you only level 20, Loki?"

"I don't play it often, I play 8-bit games more. Also I'm just bad."

"Really? I already got you up to level 40," you said. He rushed over and sat next to you.

"Alright, show me how you play this game then."

After a few hours of Loki and Verity watching you play Overwatch (you got Loki to level 70 at the end), there was a loud knock on the door. Loki got up and turned the tv off.

"Thor must be here," Loki said, opening the door. Lo and behold, it was Thor, his face clean and shaved, blonde hair reaching his shoulders. His muscular stature made you rather self conscious and you quietly made your way to the kitchen. You noticed the red haired woman as well from a couple weeks ago. The door shut and Loki entered the kitchen to grab some drinks.

"I'll stay in here," you said quietly. You decided to clean the dishes while you were at it. Loki gave you a look of gratitude before leaving. You then heard a faint conversation and quietly hummed to yourself.

"...I wouldn't say I felt guilty, exactly. I rarely do. But... tonight, Asgard's oldest hero is in chains in the dungeons of Asgardia. Because of me..." You tuned out some of the conversation and focused on the dishes for a minute. "This is not a heist, not a caper, this is a mission. And if you choose to accept it..." Loki paused for a moment and called out your name. You poked your head out the kitchen in response. He motioned you over and had you lean on the couch. Verity, the red haired girl, and Thor already was sitting on it, leaving you no room. "You are my agents. So... who's with me?" he finished, a smirk growing on his face.

"I'm in," Verity sighed. "Mainly cus of this knucklehead," she said, pointing her thumb at you.

"Of course I'm in, sounds fun," the red haired girl said, leaning back. She gave you a flirtatious look and you ignored it.

"Your powers won't work on (y/n) here, Lorelei," Loki commented. "I believe he finds others attractive." You immediately got flustered and stayed silent.

"As everyone else has said, I am in," Thor then said. "You rid me of something I hated in myself and I should help you in return." He got up and patted Loki's shoulder, before heading into the kitchen for another drink.

"(y/n)?" Loki said, his gaze going to you.

"What have I got to lose, I'm not that useful anyway," you shrugged. Your comment resulted in a frown from Loki but it quickly went away. A short silence spread throughout the room.

"So when do we start?" Lorelei smirked.
