You had been growing up on Asgard for the past thousand of years. You were basically the human equivalent of 16 years old, old enough to join the royal guard. But joining the einherjar wasn't your plan. You always had an affinity for magic and were planning to become Frigga's apprentice. She was the best sorceress after all. You decided to speak about it to your parents.

"Mother? Father?" you said at the dinner table.

"What is it, dear?" your mother had asked.

"I've decided what I want to do with my life," you said.

"Become an einherjar like me?" your father said proudly. You shook your head and looked at the two.

"I'd like to go under Queen Frigga's apprenticeship," you said. "And become a master sorcerer like her." You then received a peculiar look from your father.

"Hmm, I suppose it would be a great honour to be under the command of Queen Frigga..." your mother said.

"Absolutely not! You will become an einherjar like me and become the strongest man in the army!" your father slammed his fist on the table. You gave a frustrated sigh.

"I understand that! But why can't I be a master sorcerer AND become an einherjar later?" you asked. "I've been training with my magic and my skills with axes! Plus I've been getting stronger, but I don't really want to be brutish."

"I will not-" A knock on the door had interrupted the argument. Your father angrily opened the door to see two einherjar guards at the door. "Heimdall and Queen Frigga wish to see you, (y/n)," one of them said. Your jaw dropped and you promptly shot a smirk to your father.

"If you step out that door, you aren't our son anymore!" your father yelled. You kept walking and ignored his threat. All you did was give him a look of satisfaction and followed the einherjar.

After entering the castle, you were greeted by Queen Frigga. "Follow me, young one," she said with a sweet smile. She waved a hand and you followed after her when she opened the doors to what seemed to be her study. "I take it you would like me to teach you the ways of magic?" Frigga asked. Giving a respectful nod, you said yes. A small smile graced her lips, "Not many are interested in magic, and I'm glad you have a passion for it," she said. "Why do you want to become a sorcerer though?"

You gulped and told the truth. "I... wanted to prove to my father that I wasn't a brutish man, that I had at least some... elegance. And I wanted to become a master sorcerer due to... well, I want to help people."

Frigga gave another warm smile, "Then I shall take you in as my apprentice," she said. "Loki!" Frigga called out, where a rather handsome black haired 16 year old boy sauntered out towards her. "I'd like you to meet (y/n), he will be training with you."

The prince began to examine you. His green eyes trailed up and down and locked into your (e/c) ones. "You're cute," he smirked. Your face then proceeded to flush with red. Unsure of what to respond with you went with possibly the worst option.

"You're c-cute as well," you stuttered. Loki's smirk only grew more as he turned towards his mother. "I like him," Loki said. "He shall make a great sparring partner when we practice our magic," he said. Frigga chuckled and nodded.

"Indeed he will, but we need to refresh him on the basics and make him learn some offensive and defensive spells first," Frigga said. "You have much training to do," she said. "I will let you live in the guest bedroom down the hall, there is enough clothes so do not worry," she smiled. "Good luck," she said as she waved you off. You were quickly escorted to your new home.

The guards showed you to your room, where you gasped in amazement. This room was bigger than your old home! The room was adorned with intricate carvings on the ceiling, miscellaneous bookshelves tucked in a corner right next to a desk. The bed looked amazing. It was twice the size of your old one and had blue satin sheets. Feeling rather giddy with excitement, you opened the wardrobe hugging the wall. The wardrobe held many leather tunics, a few silk shirts as well, not to mention a nice assortment of boots on the floor of the wardrobe.

"Feeling at home already?" a familiar voice said. Your face flushed once again as you quickly shut the wardrobe.

"Hello," you said quietly. You turned towards the prince and gave Loki a smile. "What brings you here, my prince?"

Loki rolled his eyes and walked closer to you. "You shouldn't call me prince, just call me Loki," he said, his green eyes giving somewhat of a twinkle. "We're going to be partners together so calling me prince all the time will get boring," he explained. The way he said partners was rather interesting.

"Ok, m- Loki," you quickly corrected yourself. He smiled at you.

"We're going to be great friends," he said as he began to walk away.
