the weekend had come and gone, and they all were back in school once again. donghyuck and mark didn't talk much after the incident at the arcade.

johnny had planned to visit mark while ten visited donghyuck. they both agreed that mark and donghyuck needed to get it together and figure out what the hell they were.

"mark, seriously, you need to figure this out," johnny was getting annoyed about the fact that mark wasn't even trying to help himself out.

"it doesn't matter, johnny. donghyuck is my friend, and besides, he volunteered for this, i had no clue," mark snapped at him in english, making it easier for their conversation to be ignored.

"i'm just trying to help you out with your own feelings here, mark," johnny retorted back, shutting mark up right then and there.

mark just wished that johnny would leave, and let him figure this out. johnny wasn't helping, he was lowkey making it worse.

"i'll figure it out, give me time."

"oh, mark, yea, he's pretty damn cool," donghyuck chuckled out, sending a heart warming smile at ten. ten smiled back, happy he was getting somewhere with donghyuck.

ten smiled at his phone, happy he was winning this. donghyuck seemed really open about how he felt, and if he didn't know, he really didn't.

mark on the other hand just lied about practically everything just to make them leave him alone. he never thought much about his feelings for the younger, and he surely wouldn't tell johnny first.

he'd go to taeyong, obviously. taeyong wouldn't make fun of him, and he wouldn't pressure him either. and besides, taeyong already betted with sicheng that mark likes donghyuck.

"listen, i just needed to see you," donghyuck said, standing on the porch of mark's house at 2 in the morning. mark was awoken by the knocking, but once he found out it was donghyuck, he was wide awake.

donghyuck was currently on the couch, mark sitting on the floor in front of him, holding one of his hands out of a strange habit.

"ten came over earlier yesterday and kept asking me questions i didn't feel comfortable asking, and i'm scared now," donghyuck had tears falling out of his eyes, and it made mark want to kill both ten and johnny.

"why didn't you text me," mark asked in a quiet voice. he's never seen donghyuck cry before, and he wants it to be the last. well, minus happy crying.

"i was afraid," donghyuck whispered, looking down. mark lost it then, leading forward and pulling donghyuck into a tight hug.

"don't ever be afraid to tell me anything, okay? i will never judge you, ever. believe me," mark whispered, petting donghyuck's hair gently. donghyuck relaxed a little bit, head resting on mark's shoulder.

"why are johnny and ten doing this," donghyuck asked, his voice calming down. mark sighed, he knew why, but didn't know if he should tell the younger. maybe it was better if he knew.

"they think there's something going on, like we like each other and we can't accept ourselves," mark explained, his voice fading around the end of the sentence.

"i've accepted the fact that i like you, though," donghyuck blabbed out, covering his mouth instantly. mark stared at him, words not forming.

"i'm sorry," donghyuck whispered as he tried to get out of mark's arms. but mark didn't let go. it was at that moment that mark also realised he liked donghyuck.

"don't be sorry, i like you as well," he said quietly, smiling at the words that floated between them. it felt calm for once that night, and both boys could feel it.

"please, don't say that if you feel forced to," donghyuck said, looking up at mark hopefully.

"i actually do have feelings for you, donghyuck. why wouldn't i? you are sweet, loving, adorable, everything i wanted."

donghyuck gave him the brightest smile mark's ever seen, and he was happy he was the reason donghyuck was smiling this bright.

"what did i do to deserve you," donghyuck hid his face in mark's chest, hands wrapped around his waist, hugging him close.

"you offered to be my cuddle buddy."
