"where were you yesterday afternoon," ten, one of mark's friends, asks him the next day. mark just shrugged, remembering what donghyuck told him yesterday.

ten didn't ask any questions after that, and mark respected him for that. mark felt closer to donghyuck than every before.

what mark couldn't comprehend is the fact that donghyuck trusts him enough to tell him about his life. and mark, maybe, trusts donghyuck as well.

he didn't care that he missed half a day of school, he needed to be there for donghyuck. it just proved to mark that donghyuck was a caring person.

maybe that's why he volunteered to be his cuddle buddy. he was hurt before, and wants to make his friends happy. so they don't have to deal with the same feeling of being abandoned.

mark didn't want donghyuck to feel that way. he didn't know why he felt this way, they've known each other less than a week.

but mark knew there was something special about the younger male.

donghyuck greeted mark once again with a back hug, and it sent shivers down his spine.

"how are you, i mean about yesterday," mark asked in a worried tone, searching donghyuck's eyes. donghyuck sent mark a soft smile, reassuring him.

"thanks to you, i'm just fine," the young male mumbled, arms still around mark. out of the corner of his eye, he could see ten smiling and waving, causing mark to smile.

"come, meet my friends," mark smiled, grabbing hold of donghyuck's hand subconsciously, and pulled him in the direction of ten, taeyong, johnny, and kun.

"well, you already know taeyong, but this is ten, johnny, ten's boyfriend, and kun," mark introduced them, all of them waving at donghyuck.

"i'm donghyuck, and i'm mark's cuddle buddy," the male stated, looking over at mark in case he said something he shouldn't have. but the small blush on his face calmed donghyuck.

"it's a pleasure meeting you," kun said excitedly, patting the empty seat next to him. mark gave him a small push, giving him the motivation to sit next to the happy boy.

"he's the reason i wasn't here in the afternoon," mark nodded towards to ten, ten responding with a slow nod.

johnny had placed his hand on ten's knee, rubbing in small circles with his thumb. mark was happy for them, to say the least.

a good part of his friends are in relationships. he never minded being the third wheel. if his friends were happy, then mark was as well.

he was used to kun and sicheng to be cuddling when they threw little parties, it made him happy they were happy.

but now that donghyuck has joined the picture, he feels a little bit more awkward. him and donghyuck were just cuddle buddies, and that's possibly all they'll ever be.

to say mark wanted something like what johnny and ten had was an understatement. he was craving it.

maybe that's why he wanted a cuddle buddy in the first place. he needed to get over the craving of someone treating him like he's been wanting.

he didn't want donghyuck to feel he was being used. donghyuck's had such a bad life, and mark wants more than anything to make the young male happy.

"mark, we're all going a trip to the arcade this weekend, and i was wondering if you and donghyuck wanted to tag along," kun asked, his arm around donghyuck's shoulders.

it made mark jealous, to say the least. he knew deep down that kun wouldn't do that because he loves sicheng too much.

"sure," mark didn't realise the protectiveness in his voice until johnny gave him a questioning look.

mark cleared his throat, looking down at his lap to hide his face. he probably embarrassed donghyuck in front of everyone.

mark smiled down at his phone, looking up and creating soft eye contact with the young male next to kun. their eyes stayed locked for a few seconds, before donghyuck blushed and looked down.

"so i'm cute only when i'm embarrassed," mark chuckled as he laid next to donghyuck, the younger male's around his waist.

"pretty much," donghyuck responded, rolling his eyes. mark slapped him playfully on the head, donghyuck laughing because of the action.
