cuddle buddy [markhyuck]

donghyuck grumbled as he pulled mark towards him, letting the elder rest his head on his chest. mark never wanted to be the little spoon, he thought donghyuck needed protection. but then donghyuck keeps bringing up the fact that he was supposed to be mark's cuddle buddy before they got together.

donghyuck enjoyed protecting mark. the older boy was fragile, he just never acted like it. he always acted tough and would protect everyone. but he needed protection too. it always made donghyuck feel bad whenever he couldn't protect mark or be there for him.

he's here now, that's all that matters. with mark cuddled up into his side, his face buried in the crook of donghyuck's neck, donghyuck feels at peace. he really cherishes these times. the times where mark is at his most vulnerable. where donghyuck can protect him and let mark have no worries, no stress over anything.

mark stresses too much over the future and how his friends would do once they are done with school. kun and sicheng are done with highschool, and mark worries about how they would survive. he knows it's not really his problem but he feels he has to protect all the people he loves.

this gives mark a way to decompress and to relax, and to not worry about anything. just to be with donghyuck. that's all mark should be thinking about. donghyuck wants mark to feel safe around him, to feel content and happy. seriously, that's what mark deserves. donghyuck wants mark to have all those amazing things.

sometimes mark can't get it through his head that donghyuck loves him unconditionally. he actually feels he doesn't deserve it. and that's when it really sinks in for donghyuck that mark is insecure about himself. he's afraid donghyuck is going to leave him.

but mark trusts donghyuck with his life. mark loves him so much, and that's probably why he's afraid donghyuck might leave him. mark's worried that donghyuck will get tired of his love and of him, then leave him. and it scares both of them.

it scares donghyuck because he doesn't want mark to do anything stupid to himself. he wants to be there when mark is unable to get himself out of a dark hole. he wants to protect him. that's all donghyuck wants in life.

and boy has donhyuck been a ray of sunshine in mark's life. the best thing about that is the fact that donghyuck doesn't know. that makes mark feel better, surprisingly.

let's just say mark is extremely grateful for donghyuck.
