DOLLAR VALENTINE the time of the year where desperate cheerleaders set up a stupid daring ceremony. Chrissy didn't need to enter, Jeff was her valentine this year, he was the one.

"Are you seriously fucking doing that shit, Hannah?" Chrissy whispered looking at Hannah fill in the pink sheet discreetly, so the teacher didn't catch her. "I thought it'd be fun." Hannah replied in a mumble without looking up, too focused. "No, listen to me now! As your new best friend I'm telling you you're gonna get some dipshit, that will fucking take advantage of you. Listen to Chrissy, Han, this could go terribly wrong."

Hannah didn't listen to Chrissy, she felt like she didn't understand how Hannah need to feel noticed, liked or acknowledged. She hasn't had a good start to the school year, and thought somebody could change that, even if it wasn't him the one person she really wanted.

Chrissy had become really protective over Hannah since their sleepover. Hannah poured her feelings out to Chrissy telling her how she felt so alone, and Chrissy didn't want her to feel that way anymore.

The bell went off signaling the poor prisoners that they had to go to their next lesson, Chrissy sighed inwardly, groggily walking out of class to her locker. "Hey Chrissy, we didn't get to talk much at my party, even though I sure as hell didn't want to be talking," Bryce the douche was here, blessing Chrissy was his jerk vibe. "I wanted you to be moaning my name." Chrissy's mouth opened in disgust, how could one person be this vile, to treat young women like they were nothing but an object.

"Is that why you gave me that drug? Because you wanted me in your sheets" she asked slamming her locker with such force, Bryce grinned, satisfied they'd he'd made her pissed off. "Come on, Chrissy, don't act like you don't want to ride the Brycycle." Chrissy couldn't help but laugh. He was so dumb, so arrogant.

"Actually Bryce, she's been to busy riding the Jeffcycle." An arm was suddenly around her shoulder, making her feel safe, unthreatened. "Hey dude." Bryce said to Jeff holding his arm up for a 'bro hug' but Jeff just glared at Bryce. "Hmm. How about you leave my fucking girlfriend alone, dick?" Bryce shook his head and smile at Chrissy, he turned away but before that he said something. It made Chrissy's blood run cold, she tensed, altering Jeff who was squeezing her shoulder comfortingly, trying to get her to talk.

"You know what dirt I've got against you, right Jensen?"

•••••••

Chrissy was finishing off her makeup, Jeff was downstairs talking to her dad and Clay whilst her mom was stood in her doorway. Lainie loved her daughter so much, she'd always find herself thinking, where did things go wrong? Why don't I have a bond with my youngest child? But it wasn't Lainie's fault, it was just Chrissy's personality.

"You look beautiful." She said to Chrissy, making her look up in her mirror at her mom. "Thanks." She replied stroking out her red dress that was also slightly pink, along with her soft brown curls that hung past her shoulders in small waves. "Jeff's really nice." Lainie said stepping closer to her daughter to fix her hair. "I know. He's a real gentleman." Chrissy said finding herself giggling slightly. He was a gentleman but he was also a giant goofball that never failed to make her laugh.

"I love you. You know that right?" Lainie's voice had broke midway after putting the final pin in her daughters hair, the top layer of it pulled back out of her face. "I know mom, and I love you too. I know we don't have the best relationship but, I think we could work on it." Chrissy replied turning around and taking her mom's left hand in both of hers. "That'd be great."

She met Jeff at the bottom of her staircase, it wasn't like one of them cliché movies where the girl stops at the top and the guy gasped for air, his eyes dripping with lust. No. It was where Jeff had to stop himself laughing as Chrissy tripped on her dress and nearly fell down the stairs.

"That would've been quite a tumble, gorgeous." He said as she was in front of him. "At least you would've caught me with your jock muscles." She teased giggling. He smiled. She looked unbelievably beautiful. Breathtaking.

Perfect.

"You look amazing." He said twirling her round so he could get a full view. "Why thank you, handsome. You don't look so bad yourself." She said admiring his efforts. "Your neck looks a little bare. Good job I got you something for it." He pulled a small velvet box out of his tux pocket and handed it to her. She looked up at him twice before opening it to reveal a beautiful necklace, it was white with small decorative pearls and it looked very expensive.

"Jeff-" "Ah, ah, ah." He said silencing her. "Let me put it on." He put it on her, his hands fiddling with the clasps a few times before getting it right. "Now you look even better which I didn't think could be possible." He whispered before pecking her lips.

"Okay, come on guys." Clay said frustratedly, possibly Hannah deprived. "Bye Mr and Mrs Jensen." Jeff politely said. "Goodbye Jeff, maybe you could come over for dinner one night. We could get to know you a bit more." Lainie said, looking at the boy who was gazing at her daughter with so much admiration, so much love.

"I look forward to it." Jeff answered, waving bye and opening the car door for Chrissy whilst Clay slid in the back...like a sulking child.

"Did my dad say anything to you?" Chrissy whispered, holding her hands together twirling her thumbs. "Not really, he asked me about baseball and then kindly slipped in, and I quote 'baseball huh? Well you should know that if you hurt my daughter, I'll break you knees with a baseball bat.'" Jeff imitated her dad's voice, making his much deeper. Chrissy was in hysterics, whilst Clay was slightly chuckling.

"Well I apologize for that." She giggled.

Many people were at the dance, Jeff went off to speak to Clay so Chrissy went looking for Hannah, but found Jessica and Justin instead. "Hey lovebirds." She greeted them, looking at Jessica, she looked flawless. "Hey Chrissy, we haven't spoke since the party. You look amazing by the way." Chrissy and Jess made small talk for a while until Jeff came over and asked Chrissy to dance.

Her arms were around his neck, his around her waist. The same position they were in when they had their first kiss. "What was you lecturing my brother about?" Chrissy asked him, her fingers circling the back of his neck. "I was telling him to grow some fucking balls and ask Hannah out." "It's about time!" Chrissy agreed. She wanted her brother to be happy, happy like she was with Jeff.

"How about we get out of here?" And they did, the dance sucked anyway. The stopped at a pizza place before going back to Jeff's house. His parents were sleeping so they had to be super quiet. Jeff had given Chrissy a long shirt to change into and with that Chrissy fell asleep in his arms.
