Chapter 2

Hell had erupted all throughout the room. Nishinoya Yu, the army defence, and Tanaka Ryunosuke, the army offence, were fawning over Kiyoko Shimizu, the royal consultant, only to be rejected. Daichi, the head council member, was screaming at Kageyama for fighting with Hinata, who had climbed through the window. Yamaguchi and Enoshita, Karasuno's best mages, were having a civilised conversation with Sugawara over in the corner away from the commotion. While (Y/n) was watching the commotion Yachi has entered the room with Asahi, gaining the attention of the previously rejected teens.

(Y/n) walked over to the three civilised people and greeted them. A loud thud was heard as Asahi had fallen face first into the ground after being tackled by Nishinoya's flying back hugs. Tanaka was sulking in the corner after being politely rejected by Yachi. Daichi had given up on screaming at the fighting duo and joined the group in the corner.

"So what's going on Daichi? Why are we here?" (Y/n) asked looking at the stressed teen.

"Well this was supposed to be a meeting to select you a knight but it doesn't look like it will happen anytime soon." He sighed and lead (Y/n) and the group over to the table in the middle where chairs were set up for the meeting.

By now Nishinoya and Tanaka were having some kind of battle cry competition with Hinata and Kageyama with Asahi running over to the table covering his ears. (Y/n) patted his back as he sat down giving him some sort of comfort.

It was like it always was, people not cooperating or people talking off topic while they waited for the others to quit, which was what was happening today. Random members of the council sat at the table heads resting on the wood in defeat. The conversation of today was whether or not cake is a suitable breakfast, which (Y/n) lost badly.

Minutes flew by and nothing had got done. That was until the doors swung open and slammed against the walls creating a loud bang and causing the room to fall silent. A tall blond male with glasses walked into the room and stopped, looking around at everyone with a disinterested look.

"Well it was hard to find the room, seeming as it was the loudest. What is this a zoo or something?" A snarky remark came from the male giving him a rude first impression.

"Tsukishima Kei, a brand new knight out of training." Daichi stood and went over to the boy shaking his hand.

"Sawamura Daichi was it?" The male, Tsukishima, asked.

"Yes, Daichi will do thought. You're a bit late there though." A dark aura surrounded him. "We don't like tardiness here."

"Yet people can act like wild monkeys" He commented.

A small laugh came from Daichi, "Well these people aren't the best behaved." He gave a dark look at the four previously screaming boys.

"So I can see. Well I'm assuming I'm here for a reason, care to explain."

"Ah yes come sit at the table. The rest of you sit your asses down and don't speak unless you have something to contribute to the conversation!" (Y/n) let out a small laugh as she saw the scared looks from those standing.

Anyone standing scattered to their seats or standing places and kept their mouths shut. Daichi remained standing as he began to speak. "Okay everyone so we all know that we have been lacking a royal knight and have been having difficulty find one ever since Akiteru died. However lately we discovered the existence of his younger brother here and luckily for us he had just finished his training to be a knight."

"Long story short I was chosen to fill this role because everyone expects me to be just like my brother and be some great knight who can defend some chick because that's apparently what our family does." Tsukishima cut in.

"Yup pretty much." Daichi answered.

"Well some chick over here thinks that she does not need one and that she is capable of defending herself and doesn't need no man to guard her." (Y/n) stood up giving her opinion,

"Princess as much as your opinions are greatly valued and respected, we are going to have to forget that we ever heard that. Because as the rule state each member of the royal family is to have a knight to serve and protect them at all times, especially as they reach the age of being crowned Queen." Sugawara explained.

"Well these rules are stupid. Can't I just change them or something?"  (Y/n) argued.

"No you can't because that would have to be passed by nearly everyone in this room, which I can tell you know would not be passed. Especially by those who are in charge of defence. Princess your safety is the utmost importance to us. And although the kingdom is no longer seen as a rival by anyone, or important for that matter at all, there is still risks that you could be assassinated or that someone may try to harm you." Nishinoya explained.

"And as the only one left of the royal bloodline you are needed to be kept alive in order to keep our already ruined kingdom going. The death of you would mean the death of the kingdom and we would be taken over by other powerful kingdoms and forced into their rule and Karasuno wouldn become a only a bedtime story told to small children as they go to sleep." Ennoshita finished.

"Wow jeez thanks for the support guys." (Y/n) wasn't happy about the fact that she had to be protected by someone else. To make matter worse that person being a guy, a guy who had a nasty attitude. A guy who was related to her childhood knight, a man she did not wish to forget but one she didn't want to remember at the same time. "Well whatever if that's what needs to be done get the papers signed and all of that fun stuff. I'll be taking my leave now."

The room was silent as the (h/c) left slamming the doors behind her. Looks were passed between the people. Asahi stood and excused himself stating that he needed to get back to tending to the tree outside. Hinata was the next to leave making the excuse of needing to feed the horses.

Sugawara brought out the contracted and had Nishinoya, Tanaka, Daichi, Kageyama, Kiyoko and himself sign it before handing it over to Tsukishima where he dipped his thumb into red ink and stamped it onto the paper. All that was left was (Y/n) signatured.

"I'll get it later guys when she has calmed down." Sugawara informed them taking the paper and leaving the room. Daichi concluded the meeting and followed after Sugawara telling Kageyama to show Tsukishima the weapons room. 

Everyone soon took their leave, leaving only Kageyama, Tsukishima and Yamaguchi left in the room.

"Tsuki!" Yamaguchi cried out as he hugged the tall blond catching him off guard. "Tsuki I haven't seen you in so long!"
Tsukishima pried the crying boy off of him. "Yeah good to see you too Yamaguchi. Look can we talk later, I'm a bit tired."

"Ah yeah sure." Yamaguchi bid his farewell and left the room.

The blond turned around and looked down at the ravenette. "So you going to show me this room or not huh."

Kageyama gritted his teeth, "No find it yourself. Honestly I was hoping I would never have to see you again."

"And why's that huh? Didn't want to be seen by anyone else from the class. You know it's all because of your bad temper that you got kicked out. You may have been the best but you were too controlling, almost as if you were, well the king." He mocked.

Kageyama glared at him and then sighing and leaving the room. Surprise crossed Tsukishima's face as he left.

When they were both at knight training school Kageyama had never back down from a fight. This was partially the reason as to why he was kicked out. Shrugging the male jogged out of the room calling out for Yamaguchi.

The boy soon appeared and the two spent the rest of the day touring the castle. Yamaguchi made it his job to tell him about every room as well as all of the goss that was floating around. Night soon came and both retired to their rooms.

Too tired to do anything Tsukishima decided that he would unpack tomorrow and went straight to bed.
