Chapter 27: He Who Gave Himself Up To Greed

We rode, three days have passed since the start of our journey, four days total(including my rest day) and in 296 days, approximately, I will have back my powers.  Traveling through forests, planes, and various other nature forms, we eventually rode to the front of a cottage.

"Wait here," Mia whispered as she started to move forward, slowly sliding off her horse, yet at the same time, I readied my bow, arrow notched at the getgo. While knowing that I probably would not be much help, and if the Wicken is expecting it, then an arrow is quite easy to dodge. However, for instance, let us say that the arrow DOES hit the Wicken, even if it is in a non-fatal area, it will at the bare minimum eliminate the healing properties he will experience if it turns out as a non-friendly entity.

As she approached, a long sigh was heard from behind us.

A young man, long hair, dark-red eyes approached. A tear of blood dripped down, symbolizing that he has truly reached a pitiful state, most miserable state. Be it from his arms, legs, or any visible part of his ripped clothing which was visible, whip-lashed scars were formed. One of his eyes had a scar scraping downward from it, however, instead of looking hideous, it actually looked quite remarkable and striking.

"So you came." He said in a light-toned accent. I noticed a foreign, light sounding accent on his voice, symbolizing he was not of the area.

"So we came," I said back. One thing I learned when fighting others is to never start with stating your purpose unless they bring it up. Doing so is not only unorthodox, however, you risk the act of hostility to another party. Plus you can learn more information from them if they believe you to be friendly.

"Shut up, Cam. Let me talk." Mia said.

I looked at her, long and hard, not sure how to react to that. While I want to protect her, I know I am in no position to with but the little strength I had. The only advantage I had over her was my technique and skill of using my weapons, as well as striking at the right moment. She had more experience in all other aspects.

"We came to warn you-" She started to say

"I know. Don't state the obvious." Mia had made a beginner mistake in talking to others. Not only has she made the person slightly angry and short talking, but a misunderstanding may arise.

"Please allow me to finish for her. We wish to warn you of the danger your in. Two Froya- I believe your Master taught you about them- are coming to kill you. All we want is the body so that we can give her a proper burial, and we will leave you, thus leaving them with no way to find you." I said sweetly.

The man thought it over for a moment. Judging by how he was able to get behind us without either of us noticing until he said something, shows how much stronger he is from each of us. The best situation I believe would be the survival of us.
