Chapter #3 My first day is finally 'up'.
*~☕︎~*Fay
What is it that makes people do stupid things? Like honestly, I'm ready to find any sort of formula. What is wrong with me? I spent the night at a stranger's house. I spent the night at a stranger's house who is a male. I mean, goodness know what could've happen, and what type of person he is. Although for some odd reason, I was feeling brave and like he wasn't someone who would hurt others.
So, I made my first giant step in adult hood and listened to my instincts, and it didn't turn out that bad. I mean, I'm alive and well, if not even better since I've had a good night's sleep.
The bed was comfortable, and I actually really enjoyed the sounds of all the traffic outside. Especially since I shot up to the sound of the garbage truck that felt like it was three feet under me. Probably because it was.
Waking, I look over at my phone, which was on the little night stand beside me, and see 7:03 am. As quickly as possible, I jump out of bed.
"Alright Fay, you don't have any change of clothes, so I guess it's either grab something quick from the gift shop or wear the clothes from yesterday."
I'll just pick up a hoodie or something because I've gotta make it to class.
Swiftly, I make the bed, placing everything neatly away just the way I found it and open the door quietly. The light peaking through the blinds in the living room makes the dust in the air much more noticeable. It almost looks enchanting as the particles float through the still and quiet air.
"Yeah. Those dead human skin cells are super enchanting Fay."
I'm just trying to look at the bright side!
Slowly, I allow my eyes to drift over to the bedroom door a few feet away from mine. It's closed shut and there's not a sound to be heard.
"He must be asleep, huh?"
Slowly, trying not to make a peep, I walk into the bathroom. It's standard, small, little shower, sink and of course a toilet. Oh brother, I just realized that I've got no tooth brush or hair brush either. I'm so going to the police after class.
Attempting to tame my dirty, strawberry blonde hair, I noticed my reflection. My big, round, light green eyes are puffy, and look drained. My small lips are chapped and pale. I just look tired period. Makes sense though, since yesterday was so much social interaction for me.
Am I the only one who gets extra tired around people? It's honestly one of the most tiring things ever for me.
As I walk out the bathroom door, I quietly walk into the kitchen. The last thing I wanna do is wake him up. I actually feel pretty bad for pepper spraying him, but what was I supposed to do? It was pure self-defense.
In the kitchen I look around to see if there is anything consumable. The only things visible to the eye are some apples on the counter that have not even been bothered to be placed in a bowl. Looking through the cupboards, there's nothing but Honey Bunches of Oats and Fruity Pebbles.
"Seriously? That's it?" besides the carton of orange juice and milk in the fridge.
I do feel like it would be a bit rude for me to take his food. I mean he was nice and crazy enough to let me stay the night, the last thing I wanna do is take advantage. I quietly walk out the door, back into the hall way from last night and down the small elevator. Everything looks much better in the morning, it's less sketchy, but still dusty.
