#14 Do carnivals usually lock people 'up'?

Fay

My whole life, I always thought about what it would be like to experience a carnival or the state fair. You see, my parents never really brought me places, they either never had the time, or, as my mother would say 'It's an absolute waste of time.' So, I never went to many places, and because of my up bringing, I never felt the need to go.

Although in all my days, I never thought that my first experience would be like this.

Currently, I'm sitting in a very, very uncomfortable seat in the security guard's office. With hand cuffs on. Which pinch quite a bit, may I remind you.

I can see the guards through a clear window on the door exit, who are talking to Charles, and he seems to be explaining, while Jeffery, is quietly sitting in a chair next to the door, in front of me.

So, you most likely are wondering what happened. I shall explain in great specification. I played truth or dare, and my result was much worse than having to legally marry a llama.

Everything went according to plan. I pressed the red bottom, the ride stopped, no one got hurt, and we ran off. Little did I know that the old lady who was operating the little merry go round, for some odd reason, had noticed that her priceless, fifty-year-old wedding ring, had gone missing.

And who do you think she blames? Me, because I was totally looking for an old lady's wedding ring at a carnival!

Tapping my foot anxiously, I stare at the floor and think. "Fay you moron! Do you understand what could happen? This could go on your permit record! Then you will never graduate! Never buy an amazing beach house in Florida with an egg chair! And will probably be in jail! And become a thug, who gets inspiring tattoos in their free time at a secret gang work shop in the jail house!"

"Hey, I'm sorry this is kinda my fault." I look up to see Jeffery watching me from across the room, he doesn't seem his usually self. Confidant and a goofball of smiles. Now he replaces those with concern and a glimpse of regret.

I straighten my back, and play with the ends of my hair, "It's not your fault, I shouldn't have gotten so comfortable. I was just too relaxed. I'll make sure to not allow myself to do that again." Looking at him straight in the eye calmly.

"No. We were having fun. You obviously didn't take the ring. So, you'll be fine. They even checked you, and I don't see why they can keep us here much longer if you don't have it," Jeffery explains, leaning back into his seat.

The door opening suddenly, I and Jeffery's eyes snap, coming in is Charles, along with Cass and a very peed off Avery. Also, a security guard and the old lady.

Avery's face almost zaps like a magnet to metal as soon as she sees Jeffery, he smiles cheekily in return.

"Before I skin Jeffery alive," She narrows her eyes. "I know my friend here most definitely didn't take your ring Mis. I'm very sorry, this was most likely my idiot of friend's fault," Avery states kindly to the old lady. Though, the lady doesn't seem to care, she just rolls her eyes.

"Well, Mis Catten. Since this young lady doesn't have a ring on her and none of her friends do. We're permitted to let her go," The guard explains calmly to the lady.

"Well, if the she didn't take it. Then where in the world is it? I perfectly remember leaving it on the little surface area by the control panel." she huffs, sending me a death glare.
