After a morning filled with
awkwardness and creepy stares, I walked as cautiously as physically possible to my new locker. Don't fall again, I warned myself. As I was organizing my locker, I felt someone lightly tap me on the shoulder. "Hi!" said a blonde haired, blue eyed, generous looking girl. I recognized her from class earlier that morning. "Hey." I said calmly. "You're Sasha right?" she asked. "Yup. Thats me!" I replied, still kinda shaky from a morning of meeting new people. Suddenly, I noticed a group of girls walking. No. Strutting towards the blonde girl and I. Wait. What?!?!? Why were they coming over here? I felt my heart rapidly beating inside my chest. "Omigod! What are you doing Stephanie? You can't talk to her! She's new! Omg!" Said another blonde haired girl, but this time she was mean and had deep purple highlights in her hair. Her eyes were a green/hazel colour with some eyeliner and mascara. Her bright red lips were smirking at me deviously. "No! I can talk to whoever I want!" The nicer Blondie, who I was guessing was
named Stephanie, exclaimed. "Whatever. You're pathetic, Steph. The mean girl murmured. "You have just met Sabrina and her entourage." Stephanie said as they walked away.
"Well.. They seem jolly." I said, sarcasm dripping from my voice. "Yeah..." Steph mumbled under her breath. " What was all THAT about?" A familiar voice questioned from behind me. "Oh, hey Patty." I said. "It was Sabrina and her "clones". Steph said. "Steph! You can't let Sabrina pressure you like that!" Patty whined loudly. " Yeah, I know. It's just that she says stuff that makes me feel lame."
"You're not lame."
"Yes I am."
"No."
"Yes"
"No."
"Yes."
"STOP!" I shouted at both of them. Honestly I have no idea where I got the courage to do that, but who cares.
"Sorry Sasha."
"Me too." They both said. Patty hugged me. "Its ok." I squeaked as Patty embraced me. With that, we walked off to the Cafeteria. Except I just followed both of them because I didn't know where the Cafeteria was. "How was old school, Sasha?" Patty asked inquisitively. "It was okay." I answered dully, trying to sound like I was bored with the subject. "Where did you live before?" Steph asked, clearly ignore or not noticing my non-verbal to change the subject. "New York." I replied.
"Oh! The big apple!"
"Yeah, i guess so."
"That's so cool!" Patty cooed. The truth was, I hated living in New York. I got bullied severely for no exact reason. Everybody in school thought I was considered a "slut" because I liked to hang out with guys to play soccer. All the girls also wrote about me in the bathroom stalls saying things like "Sasha the slut." or "I wonder who Sasha is kissing right now?" Home wasn't any better either. I lived with my Aunt and Uncle until my parents were finished living in China. My parents owned a fashion chain and often had to leave with my Aunt and Uncle because they were often travelling. I really missed my parents. My Auntie Tanya and Uncle Scott were just horrid to me. If I forgot to clean my room, my Aunt or Uncle would slap me. I never told anybody because I was strong enough to take the abuse. I was ecstatic when I got to move back with my Mom and Dad who didn't hurt me at all. But, I wasn't quite ready to share that with anyone yet.
