Chapter Eight 

   Lucy turned to see a pink haired boy standing behind her, his stare was cold and hard, yet a grin was on his lips. Lucy was amused at the sight, but a cry of pain drove her out of her thoughts. The gun smoke cleared and she saw one of the guys holding his arm tightly, blood dripping onto the floor. The other two men took out their guns quickly, the pink haired boy rose his gun and stood next to Lucy. "

"Friends of yours?" He asked with a teasing grin, Lucy simply shrugged and took out her own gun. The silver gleam shone in the light and she simply smiled. 

"The opposite actually." She replied. "You've not welcomed here John and you know what would happen if my dad catches you here." She called out walking down the steps slowly, her gun was heavy in her pocket. A feeling she was not accustomed to at all. 

"Natsu-" Levy stopped once she saw Lucy walking up to the three men alone, the pink haired boy watched her intently. Erza and the others were soon next to Natsu and they watched Lucy with curious eyes. 

The blonde haired girl put on a poker face, hiding the feelings she was currently struggling with. She hadn't used a gun since her mother had gotten killed, John chuckled to himself and his two goons laughed with their boss. 

"You should know it's dangerous to walk up to me so causally Lucy-san." John spoke up snapping his fingers, one of the goons tried to grab Lucy but she quickly grabbed his arm and twisted it. The man was on his knees in no time, with Lucy twisting his arm more. 

"You should know it's dangerous to underestimate me Johnny boy." Lucy spoke up darkly, looking at him with a dark look. The other goon looked at his boss and back at Lucy, unable to comprehend what was happening.

Natsu watched Lucy, her blonde hair blew in the breeze, the cherry blossoms falling softly on the floor. She had one arm twisting the man's arm. The boss and she were looking at each other intently not doing anything. A car screech echoed and he turned to see two more men step out and surround Lucy. 

"Natsu shouldn't we help her?" Gray asked stepping beside him, Natsu held his arm out. His eyes watching the men intently. He was trained for situations like this, after all, one day he was going to take over the Gang once his father retires. 

"Erza and Gajeel let my father know what is happening and go inside. Make sure the students and teachers are alright. Gray stay behind me until I give the signal." He ordered, his voice was low and his eyes still focused on the two new members. His friends nodded and followed his order. 

Natsu walked down the stairs, his hand in his pockets. John noticed him and smiled, he nodded at the two males beside him. The two slowly walked around to trail behind Natsu, who was not wavering at all. The pink haired boy simply smiled and stood beside Lucy, who still had the man's arm in her hand. A small crack was heard and the man cried out falling on the floor clutching his arm in pain. 

"Oops, I meant to let go sooner." She stated with a shrug. Natsu looked at Lucy and his eyes followed the two men behind him, they were circling them now.

"Maku take Jun and go to the car." John spoke up, the once shivering man took his friend and left to the car as ordered. "New trainees, guess they can't hang am I right?" He laughed. 

"This isn't your territory Johnny boy." Lucy told the raven-haired male, he looked around the age of 20 or perhaps 23. The man fixed his suit and smiled in amusement. 

"Neither is it your territory, Lucy." He answered smoothly. "This territory belongs to the Dragon gang, not the Star gang." Natsu's eyes turned to face Lucy's who returned the stare. 

"You're part of the st-star gang?" He asked, his mouth was dry. Lucy didn't answer and instead took out her gun and pulled the trigger without hesitation. The man behind Natsu fell limp, she turned the gun to point it at John. 

"He's trying to distract us idiot." She mumbled. Natsu then noticed the other man pointing his gun at Lucy and he took out his own pistol to shoot him in the shoulder causing the man to drop his gun. 

"Seems like you were distracted yourself." Natsu mumbled back pointing his own gun at John, who only wore a grin. The man Natsu had shot clutched his shoulder tightly trying to stop the blood from flowing out.

"Seems like there is a difference between you two, one kills and the other doesn't-" Johnny stopped feeling a cold end on his head.

"I'm not afraid of killing and you know that Johnathan." Natsu saw a huge man holding a pistol. The man turned to Lucy and gave her a cold stare, Lucy simply mumbled something and turned away putting her gun away. "I told you to stay out of this Lucy."

"I told you not to marry again and move here, guess we both don't listen." With that she walked away from the scene, walking out of the schoolyard. 

"Teenagers am I right." Johnathan laughed. Jude clicked the gun, two men grabbed Johnathan and walked away with him. 

"Good work on cleaning up Jude." Natsu saw his father walk up beside Jude. "Nice work Natsu and it seems you met Lucy. Isn't she a nice girl." He stated. Natsu stood quiet and simply put away his own gun. 

"Far from nice." He mumbled to himself, remembering the way she kicked him and called him an idiot. Yet she did know how to protect herself, unlike some people he wasn't going to name. Gray walked up beside Natsu and rested a hand on his shoulder. 

"Nice work flame brain." 

"Nice work standing on the side ice princess." Natsu chuckled dodging a swing from his friend.
