Welcome to Hell

My annoying alarm clock was buzzing obsessively on my nightstand and I threw my fist into it, causing it to crash to the floor. Whelp, another One Bites the Dust as a
Queen song would say. I got up, stretching and yawning to find my nana standing at the door, shaking her head, "Tsk, tsk, tsk.  Another one nieta?"

"Don't judge Nana. You know how that thing annoys the piss out of me," I said with a sassy stance.

"Nieta! Language," she said sternly.

"Sorry Nana," I apologized to her.  If one thing you should know about my nana is she is a devout Catholic and distastes foul language.  She feels it makes us uncouth.  Personally, I think it's a lot of bologna.

She gave me a kiss and let me know breakfast was waiting as she left so I could get ready for school.  Thanked to be raised mostly by Nana I did go to church, holidays were important and messing around with boys was a big no-no.

Because of this, I have never had a boyfriend let alone my first kiss.  Plus, I knew when it did happen, I wanted it to be special, not just some random guy.  Enough daydreaming about the perfect guy, I needed to get going before I was late.  I grabbed a quick bite and headed out of the door.

The school wasn't that far so I walked the ten blocks until I reached it.  Okay, I lied that was hella far.  Damn, how do people do it?  Back in Cali I always got a lift from my friends, who may I remind you still never answered me back.  I even tried calling them but got sent straight to voicemail.  Such a fickle bunch.

I refuse to beg them to call me so I decided maybe it was time to move on.  I walked up to the school and headed to the office to collect my schedule.  The secretary met me at the counter.

"Can I help you, dear?" She said in an uppity tone. Can you say, snob?  Two can play at that game.

"I'm here for a schedule.  The name is Sasha Martinez," I said, rubbing my nails on my top, then blowing on them.  "Chop, chop," I said, flicking my nails and dangling my bracelet.  She gave me a disgusted look and went to retrieve my schedule.  God, I hate snobby people.

She brought back my schedule and handed it to me in a bored gesture.  I snatched it from her hand, "You may want to watch your face before it freezes like that.  Oh wait, it already did, no wonder you have wrinkles."  I walked out with a smirk as she gasped bringing out a mirror checking her reflection in the mirror.

I came out of the office to see Bree and Talia waiting for me with big grins.

"That was completely awesome," Bree squealed.

"Serves the old bat right.  She's always got a stick up her ass," Talia said loudly.

We laughed.

"I just hate rich snobby people.  They just bug me with their pretentious attitudes," I said holding my nose. "You can always smell their shit a mile away."

The girls laughed.

"Well, aren't you rich," Talia asked.

"Yeah, but I was also raised by my dad and nana who made sure I didn't let it go to my head.  They stressed people's feelings are more important than money," I said as we walked to our first class.

"That's a good quality to have.  Some people desperately lack it," Talia added.

"I just want friends and if I have to buy them, then as *NSYNC says Bye, Bye, Bye," I said, moving my hand in a bye motion which made them laughed.

"I have a feeling we are going to be great friends," Bree smiled showing her very white teeth.

As the three walked into our class, since I found out we all had the first period together, three guys were walking towards us. Two had brown hair and the one in the middle had brown hair with blonde highlights. They were talking and laughing and as they walked by the guy on the right winked at me.

This caused my cheeks to heat up, "Who are they," I asked as they walked by.

"That's Jaxon and his cronies," Bree shrugged. By the look of both Bree and Talia's expression, those boys were not their favorite people.

"You don't seem enthused about them," I said to them.

"Only because they are the biggest flirts and players of the school. Bree and I actually thought Liam and Jacob liked us only to get treated like dirt because we wouldn't mess around with them," Talia sighed.

"Whose Jacob and Liam?" I asked.

"The guys with brown hair. Jaxon has blonde highlights," Bree said, rubbing her forehead.

"Liam was the one that winked at you," said Talia.

"Our advice is to steer clear of those three," said Bree.

I nodded as I looked behind me to see Jaxon staring at me like I was fresh meat.

Why did I feel like this was going to be a long senior year?

Dad was chasing a dangerous criminal. Nana was driving me crazy. I made two new crazy friends and now I have to deal with the three biggest players in school with the main one having his eye set on me. And the first class hadn't even started yet. Yep, this was going to be an interesting day.
