Was it a good thing i was born? [Ace x Reader]

Ever since you both were kids he would always question himself thinking it wasn't a good thing he was born. Everybody hates Gol D Roger, and everybody said to Ace himself what they would do if they found out Gol D Roger had child. Everyone time he asked about it, every time he'd get more upset and angry but he would never show it.

~flashback to when you all were kids again~

"Luffy!" You called out trying to look for the Rubber boy, but he was no where to be seen, he was probably away to get food with Ace and Sabo again. But that thought was gonna when you saw Ace sitting on the edge of a hill by himself, you could here him mumbling something. As you got closer you hear the words he was mumbling, making you want to hit him and yell at him for wondering if it was a good thing he was born.

You said nothing but just walked over to him and sat beside him. "[Y/n]? How long have you been here?" He asked and you gave a soft smile. "I just got here..." You said, deciding to not ask about what he was wondering about. "If you were looking for Luffy and Sabo, they're away to get food." Ace muttered as he just kept looking over the hill and out at the sea.

"Why didn't you go?" You asked him and he just shrugged, on the background you could hear yelling, making you and Ace turn around. It was Luffy who was yelling while him and Sabo pull on the dear. Ace sighed and stood up, making his way over to him. As much as you wanted to stop him and hug him, you didn't. You knew what he was like, he was your best friend, he didn't like getting hugged in front of a lot of people, in fact, he didn't really like getting hugged at all.

For the rest of the night you couldn't help but think about why he wondered if it was a good thing he was born. He was your best friend and crush, to you, him, Luffy and Sabo were the only things that kept you staying here. You didn't really have a family, your situation was like Sabo's, you were a runaway. But you kept it from everyone like Sabo did, well, you did tell Sabo and he told you that he was a runaway too.

~a flashback inside Flashback~

"So you're a runaway?" Sabo asked with curiosity all over his face and you nodded. You thought he was going to be disappointed but no, he just smiled. "Really?... Well, if it makes you feel better, so am I" Sabo commented and you looked up at him, smiling. "I knew I recognised you from somewhere!" You yelled happily as you hugged him and he hugged back. You were both from the same place, unfortunately you both knew each other's family and you knew how bad they were. You never liked Sabo's family, especially the new child they have, Sabo didn't know this but you did, you see, you came to this group a short while ago, so you knew everything that had happened. And it disgusted you. Yet, you never told him because he probably wouldn't care or it would hurt him, and you didn't like to seen your friend hurt.

~flashback end, you're still kids right now though~

You see, not long after Sabo had to be taken home, after his father threatened Ace and Luffy. On the other hand he was nice to you, it disgusted you how horrible they could be. You looked at Sabo worriedly and he just looked to the ground, "shouldn't you go home too, [Y/n]?" Sabo's father asked and your eyes widened at the thought. Luffy basically threw himself up and latched onto you as he started crying, "no! She can't leave! Sabo can't leave either!" Luffy cried out and you wrapped your arms around him to protect him and also hug him carefully. "Let's go Sabo," His father spoke as he took him away, leaving you three standing there.

You somehow managed to carry a crying Luffy home, his head was laying on your shoulder, he was between the part of sleeping and crying, Cause he kept slowly falling as sleep as he whimpered. "We could've stopped him!" Luffy cried out again and you rubbed your hand on his back. "Luffy, we couldn't, he went with him so nothing would happen to you two," You told him as he started crying again.
