I had been in the coffee shop for around 20 minutes now, just working on a school project that had to be in on Monday.
When i sipped on my drink to find it empty and as on queue, Vic showed up.
"Refill?"
"Sure, but can I get it to take out?" I replied.
"Of course" he smiled again.
I almost smiled back but faulted.
After about 5 minutes a cup was set down, I looked up to say thanks but before I looked down Vic began speaking.
"You're in high school?"
"Um, yer"
"Same! What grade?" He asked as he swiftly sat down next to me.
"Junior"
"Cool! I'm in the grade above!" He seemed far too happy about that.
"Oh, nice" was all I said.
He opened his mouth to speak when the owner came out, I know her because she's the one who usually serves me my drinks on Saturday.
"Vic" she started "I pay you to work, not socialise."
"Oh! Sorry, it's not that busy at the moment so I thought I would keep this customer company." He got up and made his way over to her.
She was a short woman, with brown hair that was tied up in a bun, her bangs coming just above her eyes.
She then looked at me with her glasses magnifying her hazel eyes which got soft as she recognised me. "Oh, hello Kellin, I hope this new staff of ours isn't bothering you while you work."
"No, he isn't, don't worry Mrs Harold." I replied.
"Oh that's good, I'm just in my office so if he's not working or bothering you, just give me a bell." She then turned around, went to the other side of the counter and through a door leading into her office.
"You know her?" Vic asks.
"Yer, she's the one who normally takes my orders on a Saturday." I replied.
"Oh." Was all that he said.
