Chapter 8

Jayden’s POV

I woke up the next morning to my usual alarm clock, Jamie jumping on me. “Okay  okay Im up” I said getting up.  I got changed did my hair and went downstairs.  “Mom im going over to the Lynch’s house for a little bit I will be back later” I said heading for the door. “Okay but be back for dinner you have school in the morning” she said.  The only thing I hate about moving is that we only have two weeks left of school and I have to finish them with people I don’t know. Great…note the sarcasm.  I walked next door and rang the bell.  I was looking at my feet when someone opened the door, and I looked up…of course it had to be Rocky. “Hey” he said. “Hi” I said. “Whats up” he said. “I was looking for Rydel is she here” I asked. “Umm yea I think she is in her room, you can go up if you want” he said opening the door so I could walk in.  “Umm thanks” I said walking to the stairs.  “Wait Jayden” Rocky said walking over to me. “Yea” I said turning to face him. “Are you mad at me” he asked. His face looked like a lost puppy. “Umm no why” I asked my eyes not looking at him. “Because you kind of have been avoiding me since the beach, you didn’t say goodbye to me yesterday, and you wont look at me” he said.  All things true, I wasn’t mad at him things were just complicated.  “Im not mad at you Rocky” I said “Then whats wrong” he asked taking a step closer. “Things are just complicated” I said backing up. “Not to complicated where you can talk to my brothers and sister though” he said. “I don’t know Rocky I just cant deal with you right now” I said as he took another step to me. “Why” he whispered. Do I tell him, do I not? “Because Rocky im Fall..” I got cut off by Rydel.  “Jay oh thank god you’re here I was so worried you were upset with me” she said. “No Delly Im not upset with you” I said. “Yea she isn’t upset with anyone except me” Rocky said walking away. “Rocky wait” I said but he was already gone. “Did I interrupt something” she asked. “Kind of but its okay” I said following her to her room.  “What were you guys talking about” she asked once she closed the door. “He thinks Im mad at him and I was trying to tell him that I wasn’t and the reason why I was kind of avoiding him” I said. “And why is that” she asked “because im falling for him” I said. I have never heard someone scream so loud in my life.  My hands covered my ears as she began jumping on her bed and bouncing all over the place.

“Rydel calm down” I said. “I cant you just admitted to liking my brother” she said. “Yea I know now can you keep your mouth shut before he hears” I said. “Yea sorry” she said sitting back down. “Thank you” I said.  “So what are you going to do” she asked. “Probably nothing” I said. “What why” she said sounding really upset. “Because he wouldn’t even give me the chance to explain why I was upset and even if he did he wouldn’t feel the same way so I don’t know why I would even want to embarrass myself like that” I said. “What if I told you I know for a fact that Rocky is into you” she said. “And how would you know that” I asked “Because he told Riker and Riker told me” she said. “Are you being serous” I asked.  “Why would I joke about this” she said.  “I don’t know I guess I just find it hard to believe” I said.  “I guess I can understand that” she said. “But Jay you cant just give up he really does like you and he was really upset when you didn’t say goodbye to him yesterday” she said. “Yea I know, and believe me I wasn’t to happy about it either” I said. “Then go tell him” she said. “Fine” I said.  I walked downstairs with Rydel behind me.  Rocky was sitting on the couch watching TV with Riker.  “Rocky can I talk to you” I asked making him look up from the TV. “Umm now is not a good time im in the middle of something” he said turning back to the TV. “Seriously Rocky” Rydel said. “No its fine Delly I need to go anyway” I said walking to the door. 

I sprinted back over to my house tears threatening to spill from my eyes.  I ran up to my room and cried into my pillow.  I cant believe I was so stupid to believe that a guy like Rocky could actually have real feelings for someone like me.  Im nothing special why would he actually waste his time with me when he could have any girl in the world he wanted.  He literally has a huge fan base screaming his name and he would probably prefer one of them to me.
