Chapter 17

Ross’s POV

I was walking into Rydels room to see if she was ready to go and pick up Jay yet when Rocky stopped me. “Where are you going” he asked. “To the beach with Rydel” I said. “Oh can I come” he asked. “Actually I kind of need some one on one bonding time with her” I said. “Why” he asked. “Well I guess you could say I am having some girl problems and need her advice” I said. “Well I could help” he said. “Because your relationship is going so well right now” I said. “Good luck with Rydel” he said and walked away.  “Why wont you tell Rocky why were really going to the beach” Rydel asked. “Because Jay said she didn’t want him to be there so I am trying to make sure he doesn’t come” I said. “Oh, is she really that mad at him” she asked. “I don’t think she is mad at him I think she just needs some space for now” I said. “Oh so is there a girl or was that a lie” she asked. “Well there is a girl but I don’t need your help” I said. “Oh and who is she” she asked. “Don’t worry about it Rydel” I said. “Aww come on by baby bro has a crush and he wont tell me” she asked. “Nope” I said. “Do I know her at least” she asked. “Yes you know her” I said as we walked to the car.  “What does she look like” she asked. “Really Rydel” I asked. “Come on please” she asked. “fine” I started describing Jay in ways that wouldn’t lead to her automatically guessing it was Jay.  We pulled into Jaydens driveway and she walked to the car. I got out and took her bag putting it in the trunk before giving her a hug. “I missed you” I said. “Ross I saw you yesterday” she laughed. “I know but it was to long” I said. “Your such a dork” she said ruffling my hair. Rydel was staring at us bug eyed. Jay got in the car but me and Rydel didn’t. “Jayden really Ross” she whisper shouted. “What do you mean” I asked. “You like Jay” she said. “No I don’t” I said. “Ross are you really going to tell me that the girl you have a crush on is not our neighbor, my best friend, Rocky’s ex-girlfriend” she asked. “No it is” I said putting my head down. “Ross we need to talk about this later please don’t do anything stupid at the beach today” she said. “Like what” I asked. “Like go and kiss her” she said before getting in the car.  I got in and we drove to the beach.

Jayden’s POV

I was really happy when Ross and Rydel pulled up and Rocky wasn’t with them. Looks like I can trust Ross after all.  I was really surprised at the big hug I got from Ross, I mean were friends but I didn’t know we were like close friends like this.  Whatever I liked hugging him he was so cuddly and always smelled really good. Yes I smelled him, but if you came up to a guy who smelled as good as he did and hugged him you would be sniffing him too.  We got to the beach and Rydel and I laid out on the sand to get some rays while Ross ran off to surf a little.  “So whats up with you and Rocky” Rydel asked. “um…” I said. “We don’t have to talk about it if you don’t want to” She said. “No its fine, he apologized for what he did wrong, I forgive him but when he hit Ross, I don’t know part of me broke a little I never seen Rocky act like that and it kind of scared me a little” I said. “I get it, Rocky really isn’t a violent one so when he gets really upset it can be a scary sight, I do know how sorry he is and he really wishes he could take it back, he never wanted to hurt you or Ross he just got jealous and was afraid Ross was going to take you from him” she said. “Well if he trusted me he would know that I would never do that and that Im not into Ross like that” I said. “So you don’t like Ross at all” she asked. “I like Ross he is a great guy and an amazing friend I just, I think of him like a brother not in a like him in a boyfriend kind of way.” I said. “I get it, Im surprised but I get it” she said. “Why are you surprised” I asked. “Well most girls really fall for Ross, all my friends have, they think he is like such a romantic guy and always fall head over heels for him, he never liked any of them back until now” she said. “What do you mean until now” I asked. “Well he kind of has a crush on one of my friends right now but she doesn’t know and she kind of doesn’t feel the same way” she said. “Oh that sucks” I said. “Yea, he never really has found a girl he likes a lot and now I think he has but she doesn’t like him so I don’t know what he is going to do, plus its not like he could tell her how he feels anyway her heart belongs to someone close to him” she said. “So he’s like in love with his best friend’s girl or something” I asked. “Yea, she rocks his world” she laughed. “To bad she’s the one that he can’t have” I said. “Yea cuz he wants her bad” she said. “Wait” Rydel said. “what” I asked. “That would be a great song” she said. “Um…” I said. “Give me a pen and paper” she said. I handed it to her. “Im in love with someone else’s girl, you rock my world, but you’re the one that I cant have girl I want you bad.” She said as she wrote. “Well keep going” I said. “In my crazy mind, im with you all the time cuz you’re the best I never had oh girl I want you bad” she said. “Rydel that’s amazing” I said. “Ross come here” she yelled. “Whats up” he said once he walked over. “Rydel started writing a song” I said. “Really” he asked. “Its really good” I said. “Well you helped me” she said. He read it and looked up. “Whatcha think” I said. “Um.. its good I guess, you should show it to Rocky and Riker later and maybe they can help finish it.  “Well why don’t you help us finish it now” I said. “Why me” he asked. “Well it is about you” I said. “Oh…right” he said fiddling with his hands.
