Felix's POV
Marzia and I walked hand in hand down the deserted forest. The only sound coming from out cautious footsteps and the wind that rustled the trees. It was peaceful after what the world had come to. I was glad I had the beautiful Italian by my side (angry yet anyone?).

I heard a rustling in the tree's next to me and froze. Marzia took a few extra steps before stopping as well. I listened closer to the trees but I didn't hear anything else. I looked back at Marzia and nodded, signalling to keep alert.

We continued walking and a few minutes later I heard a clicking sound behind us. I froze at the familiar sound of a gun. The person holding it was right behind us.

"Turn around," a simple command was given. Marzia looked at me scared and I nodded, slowly turning around.

I was met with a revolver hovering a few feet from my face and a masked man in a black hoodie. (Cause black is ma jam). I couldn't see his face behind the white poker-faced mask, but I knew he wasn't smiling.

"Give me your stuff," he ordered. My eyes widened but I quickly hid my fear. We weren't entirely low on supplies but we weren’t plentiful either.

"But we need our stuff," Marzia spoke up before I could say anything.

"Not anymore. Now give them," he stated more demandingly. Marzia was on the verge of tears, but I didn't want that gun being fired.

"OK, we'll give you our stuff. Just, don't shoot us please," I said as I took my bag off and held it out to him. He took it from me, still holding the gun up, and searched through it. He took water, medical equipment, like bandages, and food.

He threw me back my emptied bag full of things he didn't need and held his hand out for Marzia's bag. She hesitantly handed it over and he repeated his search, though Marzia didn't have as many supplies as I did. Had.

He pulled out the ring I had given Marzia on our one year anniversary, before the world died, and examined it.

"Please don't take my ring. It's special to me," Marzia pleaded.

The man looked at her, or in her direction, before throwing the ring in the air. I watched as it shined in the sunlight, before falling towards the leaf covered ground.
As I followed its path I noticed the masked man had disappeared, but I didn't care anymore. The ring was more important in that moment. It was Marzia's.

I saw it land on some leaves and immediately picked it up. Marzia let out a sigh in relief. I gave it to her and she quickly put it on her finger before hugging me tightly.
We pulled away and I looked around quickly. The man was nowhere to be seen and the sun was about to set. We needed shelter.

"We need to find a town and find an empty house to wait out the night. We'll see if it has supplies and leave in the morning. We won't be getting those supplies back anyway," I said as I collected what was left of our stuff.

Thankfully, the man had left us some food and water but all our bandages and first aid supplies were gone. Those things weren't entirely easy to find either.

~small time skip~

We cautiously walked down the abandoned town. A few dead staggered around to darkened streets, occasionally stumbling in our direction but were too slow to catch up to us.

A lot of the houses in this area had crumbled from the bombing. The government had ordered a few towns and even whole cities to be bombed in hopes of stopping the spread of undead. Their efforts proved useless as the entire world became contaminated and soon the dead ruled.

We rounded a corner to come face to face with a street full of dead. We stayed still, we hadn't been spotted yet. Maybe we can…

My thoughts were cut short when one if the dead walked into a car right next to us and its alarm started going off, catching the attention of everything in the area.
I cursed and grabbed Marzia's hand, pulling her away from the main group of dead and down the now crowding street. I glanced behind me to see most of the risen were following us before returning my gaze to the cluster of cars in front of us.

We skidded to a complete stop as we tried to scan the crash for a way over but there was none. I saw a shop by us and quickly pulled Marzia inside. I closed the door and moved a dresser in front of it. The sound of the dead neared and soon they were banging on the door and trying to get in.

I could still hear the alarm going off outside and hoped the dead will get bored of us and go after that instead.

"What are you doing in here?" A voice growled and I spun around.
I was shocked when I saw the masked man standing with the same gun in front of me. Shadows cast across his body and made it harder to see him but his white mask stood out clear in the darkness.

"You two? What are you doing here?" He said but was a little quieter about it. I only just heard him over the banging against the door.

"We're sorry. You took our supplies so we had to find more and we needed shelter. We were looking for a house to stay in when...," Marzia trailed off.
"Cry...?" A weak voice called from another room. He turned his head slightly but held his gun up.

"Yeah?" He called back in a gentle voice I didn't think he had. There was silence for a while before a female limped around the corner. Her leg was covered in blood and a shirt had been wrapped around her calf muscle.
"Who are these people?" She asked as she pushed a strand of her blonde fringe out if her face.

Ohhhhhhhkay. So we have a problem here. The chicks are still alive... That's easily solved.
