Felix's pov
I haven't been the same since Marzia got shot. We've been traveling for over a week now, or at least it felt that way, and I haven't said a word to anyone. I was in so much shock that I just couldn't form any words. I haven’t eaten either. A sip of water every now and then when Cry would force me to, but that's about it.

I think we stopped once or twice for gas and to change drivers. I haven't left the truck besides toilet breaks when Cry would make me get out and go then take a drink after. I didn't bother objecting. I was too upset to.

"Felix?" Chey said quietly. I think Cry had left a few minutes ago to do something but that could have been an hour ago with the way time is lately. I didn't reply to Chey. I just stared at my hands in silence.

"Felix, I know it's hard for you right now but... do you really think Marzia would want you to waste your life like this?" Chey asked. I looked up at Marzia's name, "She opened that door to save you. She could have left it closed and she wouldn't have been hurt but she opened it to save you Felix. She wanted you to live."

Her words sank deep into my mind. I thought them over for a while before nodding, still unable to say anything. She opened her mouth to say something but voices cut her off. I listened carefully to where they were coming from. They came from the trees near us.

"Stay down," I whispered to Chey. She nodded and ducked down out of sight. I quickly and quietly climbed out of the car and hid behind the front of it. Two figures emerged from the trees, a female and a male. The male had messy green hair while the female had short curly brown hair, that only came down to her shoulders. They were holding hands as they walked and had smiles on their faces. And what did I go and do? Point a gun at them.

"Don't come any closer," I said firmly. The two of them stopped and the male pushed the female behind him, reaching for his own gun on his belt.

"I wouldn't do that if I were you," Cry's voice came from behind the two. The girl spun around, being greeted by the same white mask I had, while the male stared at me.

"Who are you?" I asked. The male glared at me, not willing to give a response like I had.

"I-I'm Signe. And t-this is Sean," the female said. She reminded me of Marzia.
Marzia...

"What are you doing here?" Cry growled, obviously being protective knowing Chey was in danger.

"We're looking for supplies. We were just looking for a town to stay at and maybe restock," Signe said quickly. She was clearly afraid of us and it was getting to Sean to.
"Well, you ain't gonna find anything that way besides bandits and death..." I said, trailing off at 'death.’

"Lose a friend?" Sean finally spoke up. He had a very strong Irish accent but his voice sounded quite calming.

"Girlfriend," I responded blandly. Sean's head twitched to the side and his eyes looked back at Signe. They must be a couple.

"Please don't kill us. We're not looking for trouble. We'll leave if you want us to. Just please don't hurt us," Signe cried out. At least she kept her voice down so she didn't attract any dead.

"What? No, we're not gonna hurt you. We're just not sure if we can trust you either," I said. Cry shifted his head and looked past the two at me. I shook my head and he let out a sigh.

"Fine, do whatever you want, Blondie. Where's Chey?" Cry said, obviously annoyed.
"She's in the truck. She's not hurt but looked like she needed something to eat," I informed.

"So do you," Cry muttered but I pretended I hadn't heard him. He let out another sigh and walked past the couple and over to the truck. I lowered my gun and put it in the back of my jeans where it would normally be. I suddenly felt tired and rubbed my face to try to get rid of it.

"Hey, ah, are you okay? You don't look too good," Signe asked. I lowered my hands and waved her off.

"Nah, I'll be okay. Just... shaken up is all," I replied, "Sorry about Mr Masky there. He's a bit uptight when you first meet him, but he can be nice after a while."

"Nah, It's fine. Everyone's like that in this world," Sean replied, "So Blondie, what's your name," Sean joked. I rolled my eyes and held out my hand.

"Felix," I said. He took my hand and shook it.

"Nice name. I know Signe introduced me as Sean but you can call me Jack," Jack, I guess now, said. I nodded and shook Signe's hand.

"And you can call me Wiishu," she said politely. I nodded and smiled at them.
"Nice to meet you, even though our first encounter was me putting a gun in your face," I laughed.

The sound of a car door closing caught my attention and I turned to see Cry helping Chey over to us. I guess she wanted to introduce herself.

"Hey. I'm Chey, thought I may as well introduce myself," Chey said.
Guessed it.

"Hi, I'm Signe, and this is Sean. But you can call us Wiishu and Jack," Wiishu introduced. They immediately started gossiping about makeup and girl stuff so we decided to put them in the car to talk while us guys kept watch.

"I was thinking..." Jack started. I looked at him as he spoke, "That I should propose but I don't have a ring or anything."

I looked at him with sympathy, stuffing my hands into my pockets to warm them up a little. My had brushed against something cold and I realised it was Marzia's ring. I had taken it before we buried her outside of town as a remembrance but, Jack seemed like he needed it more right now. I needed to get over Marzia. This will only hold me back.

"Hey, use this," I said as I held out the ring to him. He looked at it for a moment, before hesitantly taking it. A smile spread across his face.

"Thanks. You don't know what this means to me," He said and I shook my head.

"Don't worry about it, bro. You need it more than I do."

So Jack's with Signe aye. Wonder were that will lead.
