Felix's pov
It's been a little awkward around Ken after the encounter in the woods but me and Cry couldn't be closer. We sneak out for 'scout runs' every day and do cute stuff together. Of coarse, we do actual scout runs as well to keep the base safe but mostly cute stuff. We bring Ellie every now and then so she can get used to the wild and stuff and learn how to survive alone if we get separated. She's grown a lot too since Cry got her. She spends most of her time with me or with Red in the house. Cry plays with her too. Chase, ball, and tug of war with my socks. They're old ones and Ellie had already torn holes in them but still. Thats my sock.
"Feeeeeeelix," Cry's quiet, tormenting voice was carried over to me by the wind. I held by breath as he approached the bottom of the tree I was in. The fresh leaves created a coverage for me to hide in but I could still see him looking around through the clearings.
"I wonder where he's gotten to," Cry hummed. He sat down at the root of the tree and leant against it. He took his mask off and sighed. I watched as he closed his eyes and took peaceful breaths of the fresh air. I was about to drop something on his head when I heard footsteps nearby. I pulled my crossbow, which Cry gave to me to kill things quietly from a distance, and aimed towards the noise.
Cry had heard it too and was quick to climb to his feet again; his mask only just on as a group of men, dressed in blood covered clothes, stepped trough the trees. One of them, with dark hair and a blonde streak, was holding a chain with a young woman cuffed to the other end. The female looked weak and could barely stand up. She was covered in cuts and scars all over her body and her clothes were torn and bloodied. The sight sickened me.
"Don't bother with the mask Ryan. I already saw your face," The man spoke up with a spine crawling voice. It sent shivers throughout my body but my main concern was Cry. How did the man know Cry's real name? Cry had told me his name previously but preferred to go by Cry so I'd call him that instead. So who's this guy?
"W-what do you want Arin," Cry tried to sound strong but his voice shook. I'd never heard his voice shake like that before. Whoever this guy is he must have a pretty bad impression on Cry.
"Awe, don't be like that Ryan. We're friends here aren't we," Arin said, waving his hands around and making the chain rattle in his hands. The woman lost her balance and fell to her knees, unable to stand anymore. Arin's face turned dark and he yanked at the chain, making the female fall forward with force and land face first on the ground with a loud thud. I could see Cry flinch in the corner of my eye and knew something had happened between the two of them.
"Sure. If you say so," Cry said, the discomfort and fear evident in his voice. I'd never seen Cry act this way. I need to do something before this escalates to something bad. I raised my crossbow to this Arin guys head. Right as I was about to shoot a hand reached round from behind me and pulled my head back against the tree several times. I let out a yelp, followed by a scream as I fell out of the tree.
"Felix!" I heard Cry yell right before he caught me but the force sent both of us to the ground and a rush of dizziness washed over me. I grabbed my head as pain throbbed through my skull and tried to stay conscious as voices and footsteps surrounded us.
"Thought you could escape me Ryan. Well you're wrong. No one can escape from me without a consequence. And your friend can come with us too now," Arin's voice rang out. I felt hands grab at me and I was yanked to my feet. I struggled and tried to break free but I was whacked at the back of my head and passed out.
~oh fuck oh fuck oh fuck~
I woke up with a pounding head ache and a heavy chest. I tried to rub my eyes but I couldn't move my hands. My eyes shot open but I had to shut them straight after as a bright light blinded my vision. I recalled the events from when I was conscious and remembered briefly what had happened. We'd been captured. But where were we taken.
"Ah, the princess is awake. You'd be a very pretty toy," Arin's teasing voice echoed inside my aching head. I shook it slightly before a hand gripped my jaw. I opened my eyes again to be met face to face with Arin. The sight startled me but I didn't show it. My actions seemed to impress the burly man.
"What is your name?" He asked interested.
"Go to hell," I growled. He chuckled and released his grip, standing up slightly before slapping me across the face. The impact made my head swing to the side and I let out a gasp of air. The side of my face stung and tangled where his hand had touched as he grabbed my chin again.
"What. Is. Your. Name," Arin hissed.
"Who's asking?" I sassed. I don't know what came over me but I had an urge to piss this guy off. It will probably backfire on me later but I didn't care.
"Newbies. Always the worst. But don't worry. I'll teach you to behave. You'll be doing everything I say in no time," Arin said creepily. I scoffed and spat in his face. He turned to me with an angry expression and pulled out a knifel this might not have been a great idea after all...
Yeah Nah Felix. Probably should have just told him your name aye.
