Noah created a bubble of energy, trapping the controller of fear and him inside. The six others banged on the field from the other side, throwing everything they had at it, but to no avail. John looked at Noah with nothing but courage showing on his face. He raised his hand and closed his eyes. Noah walked towards him, reaching his hand out to grab John. A bead of sweat formed on John's forehead and his struggle could be seen on his face. Noah smirked as his hand was inches away from John's forearm, but then the scene changed. He stood in the pouring rain, alone. It seemed like an empty field that he was standing in, but there was two abnormalities. He walked up to the first one, and found Wade's dead body, ripped to pieces. He turned and saw the inevitable void of death, beckoning to him. He felt himself start to panic. The fear inside him rose at an alarming rate and he had to close his eyes to calm himself down, but it wasn't working.
He looked at the second abnormality in the field. There, on the ground, he found his mother's dead body. It was beaten, bruised, and scorched. He stared down at it for a moment, and then something happened. Something John Nokomis had never seen is his decades of controlling fear. Noah took a deep breath as his fear turned to anger, his anger turned to sadness, and his sadness turned to...laughter. Noah chuckled. "I had a feeling I'd see this again." He wiped a tear from his eye. "Didn't know it'd be tonight, but I had a feeling someone like you would do this to me." He couldn't take his eyes away from his mother's body. "So what now? You know my fears. You've tried killing me with them. Death and being alone. What you gonna do about it?" He looked down at his mother's body one last time, and then forced a pulse of energy out from his body.
John was slammed into the wall of the energy field. Noah shook his head and rubbed his eyes. "I actually should thank you for that." John looked up, not even trying to hide his fear now. "I almost forgot why I was doing this. I don't enjoy it, the opposite in fact. I'm being forced to do this." He turned to where the rest of the team watched through the field. "I'm being forced to kill. I don't want to, but if I stop then I die. I killed my mother. I didn't want to, I didn't mean to, but I did. I don't want something like this happening to somebody else on accident. Richie, what if one day you light your house on fire? Will, what if you impale your mom with a tomato plant? It could happen to anyone, but it shouldn't. Join me. Make this easier for all of us."
Mark spoke up before anyone could respond. "No! Don't listen to him. He lost control, he killed, he chose to continue fighting. He could have stopped long ago, but he keeps killing and he won't stop." The four nodded their heads in agreement.
"Well," Noah said, turning his back on John. "I tried." John jumped up and reached his hand out for Noah's head, a desperate attempt to trap him again. Noah didn't even turn around. Bolts of lightning burst from his hands and impaled both of John's shoulder's, holding him to the energy field. Noah took one last deep breath and turned towards John.
Stopping right in front of him, they were almost nose to nose. "What are you waiting for?" John demanded.
"I don't know. A good one liner? Maybe a toast. Here's to the good times, the bad times, and what's to come." He placed his hand on his forehead and felt the rush of energy. A pain exploded in his side as he absorbed all the energy and he let go. He felt heat ripple off him and he looked down at his hands. "Hm, so there's the limit for now. Good to know." He hit the ground with a huge energy blast that destroyed his field and knocked everyone off there feet. He made a finger gun at John and smiled. He winked as he fired the bolt that killed him.
Adam was the first to get up. He opened a container on his side with a flick of his thumb and moved his arms in a way that Noah found many easy ways to make fun of him for. Water flowed out of the container and hovered in front of Adam. Noah, instinctively, created a thick energy field. The water hit the field and melted through it. Noah put more power into keeping the water away but it was to no avail. The water broke through the energy and hit Noah square in the chest. Noah immediately felt drained. All his energy seeped into the ground with the water. The pressure, though, sent him flying into darkness. Unluckily for Adam, that was exactly where Noah could gain his strength back quickly.
