The ball collided with the girl. She screamed and Noah reached out his hand to collect all her energy. She fell to her knees. Noah took a deep breath and felt his anger subside. Katey stared into oblivion while Sam continued to stare at Noah, a smile forming on her face. The master, on the other hand, was infuriated.
"How?! Why?! You keep resisting my command...!" He huffed. "Fine, I guess I should have known something like this would happen. It's just...nobody's been able to...never mind. Marshal, kill the girl, then buy me time." Marshal looked surprised but with a wave of the master's hand the expression vanished.
Noah made a quick look from the master then back at Marshal. He was still unsure of what was going on. His list of things he knew had shrunk from reasons to kill Sam, to exactly three things. He was the one that killed his mother, the master had lied to him, and the master wanted him dead.
He turned to see Marshal raise his arms, spikes climbing out of the floor around the girl on her knees. He took one more look at the master as he began to leave his chambers. Noah could easily chase him down and kill him, but this girl had given him the truth. He needed someone he could trust. He turned around and unleashed a wave on energy that slammed Marshal into the wall.
Marshal swung his arms in a circular motion and the room spun, throwing Noah on the ground but keeping Marshal near Sam who was trapped by pillars of sharpened stone. Noah stood up and Marshal spun the room again. Noah knew he wouldn't be able to stand, so he floated. A platform of energy formed under him and he crouched on it, floating towards Marshal and Sam. Marshal panicked, turning the floor to a liquid stone. He left himself on the only island in the room and caused the ceiling to come quickly down around him, pushing Noah towards the 'ground'. Noah tried to shoot at Marshal but every time he shot something Marshal would dodge or make a pillar appear out f nowhere to deflect it.
Noah had seconds to think, and that wasn't enough. He tried creating an energy field that would give him an air bubble in the ground but if he did that then Marshal would just solidify it and bury him alive. He knew he didn't have enough energy to break out of that. He was running out of choices. He took a deep breath and glared at Marshal.
Noah let out a battle cry. What followed was everything he had in his system. Lightning bolts, waves of energy, spheres of pure electricity, they all ran directly for Marshal. He couldn't fight them all off at once. He was hit from every direction, screaming in pain as the over load made him burst. Noah swam as fast as he could, the ground solidifying from the other end of the room towards him. He felt some energy leaking from what was left of Marshal. He stole it from the center of the room and used it to pull himself onto Marshal's island.
Noah looked up at the ceiling, breathing heavily. Until he remembered why he had tried avoiding that particular attack. He turned his head slightly and beside him lay a girl. Her eyes closed, her breathing short, and her pulse fading...

Wade led his team towards the mountain. He allowed them all to fly beside him, Will leading the way since it was actually his team. Everyone preferred Wade, but Will insisted that he lead the team since Wade had left them. Wade had no arguments, he didn't mind following, to a limit. The mountain seemed to be normal, except for the two dead guys near the entrance. The five entered to find a brawl traveling around the base. Will looked at his team with a smirk. He had obviously seen the members of Noah's team in the fight and wanted in.
Wade placed a hand on his shoulder. "Don't kill anyone."
"What?" Will exclaimed. They looked to the fighters but they hadn't noticed any interruptions. Will lowered his voice. "This is my team. We will do what I..."
