The conversation was not a good one. Noah was furious, and he couldn't even tell himself why. He yelled at Mark, demanding to know why he was lied to. Why he wasn't told why he was sent to kill him. Mark just stood there and took the shouting without any emotion on his face, which only made Noah more angry. Energy rippled off of Noah in waves, melting and burning the ground around him. Hours passed, but it seemed like days to Noah.

Finally, Mark barked a single word: "Enough!" Noah was silenced, but the energy still rippled around him. Mark had began to suffer the effects, but luckily he was healing faster than he was being hurt and he wasn't even flinching from the pain. "You have completed your task, and for that, you must report to the master. I understand that you are letting your emotions get the better of you, so I will allow you time. Tomorrow, we shall travel down, but for now, you must leave."

Noah glared at Mark, but he knew that he wasn't going to accomplish anything today. A glowing platform formed under Noah's feet and he was lifted into the air. Mark remained on the ground, looking around at the terrified faces of those that survived the battle. With a single movement, a sword appeared in his hand and he whispered to them all "I am sorry".

...

Noah fell through the air going straight towards his home below. A slide of energy formed underneath him and he slid safely to the ground. Wade landed on the ground beside Noah as he began to walk away. "Noah! What happened? Are you OK? Did you actually kill the guy?" Noah ignored him, continuing his walk into his home. His mother, luckily, was not there. He traveled directly into his room and closed the door. It was immediately blown open by a gust of wind and Wade walked through. "Noah! Talk to me!"

Noah glared at Wade, but couldn't bring himself to yell. He sat down on his bed and took a deep breath. After several moments Noah managed to to say, "I don't want to talk about it." Wade nodded but didn't leave. He stood in the doorway and watched Noah who wouldn't meet his gaze. Finally, Wade declared, "Well...if you need to talk about anything, you know where to find me." A gust of wind pulled Wade away, and then he was gone.

Noah knew he was going to have to calm down, but he couldn't will himself to do it. Some of the others appeared throughout the night but he just sent them away. Midnight approached slowly, like a tired snail crawling across dry ground. As the moon was at its highest in the sky, Noah lashed out. Energy danced up and down the walls, radiated from his body, even crawled away as if trying to escape his rage. The room began to disintegrate, the floor burning beneath him. The shack crumbled around him, a field of energy surrounding him to protect from the falling rubble.

Destruction was all Noah could see, and he liked it. His anger was racing away as he unleashed it on his home. It seemed like he was going to be fine. All he needed was to deal with his anger. At least, that was what he though at that moment, until he heard a scream from the room beside him.

...

The man was still locked up where he thought he would be safe. His rocky tomb he called a bedroom was the only thing he had seen for days. He was surprised that he hadn't died yet, but he knew that this wasn't the way he was going to. He stared at the wall, to afraid to close his eyes. Until, for the first time in weeks, he got his feet underneath him and stepped out of the room. He walked very slowly down the hall. He heard people on either side of him doing their duty to keep the world spinning. He made it to the end where his master would be waiting behind the door. He walked in and continued towards his master, slowing his pace.

"M-mast..."

"I knew you were coming, lets skip the formalities. You have come for news, and I have none."

The man's heartbeat quickened, sweat forming on his brow. "But...you always know...its your..."

"Yes!" He barked. "I should know. Something is blocking me. I...I have been betrayed. I am certain of it. I have my suspicions of who, but they have grown powerful as I have turned my back on them."

"Well...what of my protectors? Are they ready yet?"

"Almost. I have been keeping a close eye on Mark's progress and at least one of them is ready. He has taken care of our traitor problem. He has killed for us, and now he is ready. Mark will bring him here tomorrow."

The man almost jumped for joy. "What is his power? What will he use to protect me?" A smile almost formed.

"He..." The master turned his back. "I...I don't know. This traitor is becoming a nuisance. We must find them immediately. Once you are back to full strength that will be your first task."

"OK, I will do that. What time shall we expect my protector? When should the others be ready?"

"Soon, but for now, go see anyone that can help you. Rebuild your strength. I believe that John Nokomis is available now. He'll bring down your fear. He's been very busy lately but I can make him make time for you. Good luck..." The man turned and left, his pace quicker than it was going in. Once he was gone the master turned his back to the door. "...We're all gonna need it."
