I walked through the door, and saw the principle for the first time. He was an old guy, maybe 50-60 years old. He had a mix of grey and white hair, with a moustache. He wore these weirdly blue glasses. I couldn't really describe them.

'Ahh...you must be Leo?'

'Yes...sir?'

'Ahh...good! Now I trust you know what your here for?'

'No...um...actually I don't.'

'Well, you mum has rung the school and explained the situation with Ben. I want to talk to you before I talk to Ben.'

'Oh...ok'

'Well...you see, Leo, Ben wil be going through a hard time, and there is yet another hard time to come.'

'Yeah, um...do you know why he was abused by his father?'

'Yes I do, I believe that it was because he had come out as gay...am I right?'

'Yes you are. But you see the problem with that, is you become an outcast when coming out, depending on honest your friends are. You see, I came out as gay last year to my class, and everyone hated me and bullied me. That's why I moved here this year.'

'Oh, well, I'm sorry that you were treated that way, but what I am wanting to know is, do you think it would be a good idea to have some more time off? Your mother has told me how your...er...close to Ben, so I was wondering what you thought?'

'I think he will need some time off next week, but I think you should try and have him here for as long as possible, you see...people will begin to wonder what Te gel he is doing, and I don't think "I'm sick" will do it. He has got a hard enough time ahead of him, I think him having a lot of time of school will make it harder.'

'Well, thank you Leo, you were very insightful.'

'That's ok sir, anything else you...er...want to talk to me about?'

'Ahh...actually there is.'

'Oh...ok.'

'I have been informed that last week, on the second day of school for this year, or your first day...there was an incident. Would you care to tell me who was involved?'

'Well...um...you see, I don't know them. I think they were in my year, but I'm not even sure if that.'

'Aaahhh...thank you anyway, and I hope your stomachs better.'

'Thank you sir, may I leave?'

'Yes Leo, you may leave.'

'Thank you sir.' I got up and walked out, careful not to slam the door.
