Nash's POV
I flop on my bed and groan into my pillow.
“Why did I just do that?" I muffle to myself, my face still in the pillow.
I pick up my pillow and throw it across the room just as Babe walks in.
“Oh, hey sorry." I quickly apologize.
She chuckles a bit. "It's fine Nash, it's just a pillow."
“Sorry anyway." I shrug.
I should really learn to control my anger, but throwing that pillow really made me feel better. Not because it hit Babe, but because it felt good to throw, I guess.
“You know, I think Hayes is staying." She says quietly.
“Yeah right." I chuckle sarcastically.
“I stayed." She reminds me.
“Yeah," I say laying down on the bed. “You didn't have much choice now did you?"
“Why are you so negative Nashlynn?!" She stomps crossing her arms.
“What did you just call me?" I giggle childishly, I don't even care, it was funny.
“Well, Nash is just short, so I was thinking Nashlynn was more full. Hayes is short too, so I was thinking Hayeslynn." She says seriously.
“What?" I laugh. “These names suck!"
“Oh well," she shrugs “At least you're smiling." She says walking into the room to make Cameron's bed.
She's right! What the hell, I was just angry like five seconds ago!
“How did you do that?" I ask.
“I just move my hand across the spread and it flattens." She explains.
“No," I chuckle for the second time. “How'd you know to get me to laugh so quickly?"
“I don't know." She shrugs picking a clean shirt off the floor and putting it on the hanger. “I was just being myself."
Wow, simple as that?
She reaches to hang up the hanger but she's a little to short. It amuses me so I don't help.
“So uh, about that Cameron thing..." I scratch the back if my head awkwardly even though she isn't looking at me.
“Yeah?" She's trying to sound nonchalant but her voice is so forced I can tell she's acting.
“Well, he and I were talking about hanging out with you or something individually... and, stuff.. So will you like, go out with me sometime or somethin'?"
“Um," she sounds confused. “Yeah sure, I would love to."
“Great." I say. “Great." I repeat quietly to myself. “Do you need help?"
“No." She lies.
Flashback
“Need help?" I ask as I watch her run her fingers through her hair.
“No." She lies as she struggles desperately to get the mashpotatos out.
I can't help but laugh a little, she really looks funny. I can't help it anymore, I give in and decide to help her.
End of Flashback
That was where we started, her and I.
I stand to my feet and walk over to help her. I grab the hanger and place it in the area she attempted.
“Better?"
She smiles and gives me a thumbs up. “Better."
Babe's POV
After Nash asked me to go out with him sometime, it wasn't very formal, no guy has actually asked me out like that. Cameron how ever was much more normal. He waited until we were alone, grabbed my hands and said,
“Will you go out with me tonight?"
The same butterflies came as when Nash asked, it was just more natural with Cam.
I better start getting ready, I have a date tonight.
