Tasia's POV

Brent was supposed to hang out with me, but of course he freakin ditched me for Babe. I lay across my bed looking outside.

What the hell man, what would I be doing my whole life if Brenna weren't ever born?

I hear someone in the hall. I'm not going to lie, I'm desperate to hang out with anyone. I jump off my bed and speed walk to the door.

"What are you doing?" I ask quickly as I open the door.

"Umm, going to the bathroom?" Matt responds slowly as if it were a question. "What are you doing?"

"You know, just stuff."

He smiles and adds a chuckle to his voice. "You lost without Bren?"

"No! I am totally fine with being alone now since she's been going out with Jake!" I lie.

"Kay then, fine, I won't ask you to hang out with me."

"Well just because I'm fine with it, doesn't mean I can't hang out." I point out.

He shakes his head with a smile sprawled across his features that are rarely similar to mine.

"You're so proud, you won't admit you want to hang out with me?"

"I don't want to hang out with you, but I will." I shrug.

He giggles.

"How did I survive 9 months in a stomach with you?"

"Matt! You've beat me like a million times! Can we please do something I want?" I complain.

This stupid video game of his is so annoying.

"Hey, you beat me a couple times in the beginning." He encourages.

"Do you really think I'm that stupid? I know you were letting me." I say crossing my arms.

He smiles. "Alright, fine, let's go on a walk."

"Do you ever think about, you know, going to see mom?" I ask him as the wave pushes water upon the shore.

"No. Do you? Don't Tasia. I know you'll try if you want to." He speaks before I can even answer him.

"Well, I kinda do,  do you really think I would go alone?"

"No... Why do you care about her anyways?" He grabs a shell and throws  in the water.

"She gave birth to us, Matt."

"We came out of her vagina, so what."

He and I may be twins but we are pretty different.

"We're in a gang Matt, our life's could end tomorrow, don't you have the slightest interests in seeing her maybe once more before you might die?"

I watch as he thinks it over.

"No." He plainly answers. "I mean, even if we weren't in a gang, we could die tomorrow, we could die right now." He pauses. "But family is what has got us by, and family isn't your DNA you know, it's the people who love us. Mom's not one of those people. And I don't want her to hurt my family... especially not you."

"Why not me?"

"I don't know, out of all our family, I worry about you the most."

I find it kind of funny. Am I that crazy?

"Why?" I chuckle.

"I don't know, maybe it has something to do with you being the youngest girl... Like when I heard you lost your virginity, I wanted to kill that guy, but I couldn't, you're just as old as me and I had already done it, there wasn't much example I had set."
