Alex woke with a start. Her mind raced. She had remembered: Jack Newman would change the way humans think of science, medications, and so much more. Maybe Harrison Wells had failed, but Jack won't. Or at least that was the idea Alex had. She turned on the TV in the corner of her room. She tuned to the channel called 'Keeping Up with the Flash' and listened to the reporter. "The Flash, our beloved superhero, hasn't been sighted racing around Central City today. Don't be worried, it's 8:12 A.M. Maybe he enjoys sleeping in on this beautiful Saturday morning. That ends this segment of Keeping Up with the Flash." Alex looked in a mirror. She wasn't strikingly beautiful, but there was one distinctive feature on her face. It was her hazel eyes. When she was mad, fire danced in them. When she was happy, her eyes seemed to be the bright light of the world. When she was suspicious of somebody, her eyes seemed as if they were staring into your soul. Her eyes almost had their own personalities. Alex had straight brown hair. Alex had a fair height for being in 7th grade. Her skin was pale, but she was no vampire.
