Alex sat at the table, waiting for her friend. It was 9:30. I have a half an hour to kill, she thought. Alex opened her laptop and watched a livestream of 'Keeping up with the Flash.' A reporter appeared on the screen.
The reporter told his viewers, "The Flash still hasn't been sighted. If you spot him, call in. We are accepting calls from all over Central City. The Flash's most recent sighting was last night at 9:04 P.M. He was spotted near Big Belly Burger." Alex stifled a laugh. The Flash doesn't seem like a Big Belly Burger fan. But who isn't? I guess he is. The place will probably be booming with business, Alex thought. Mary came over to the table and sat in the chair next to Alex's. Alex exited out of the livestream she was watching on her laptop.
"You ready to start our project?" Mary asked.
"Oh, I was born ready!" Alex answered with an edge of sass.
"Then let's get started! What should we start with?" Mary asked. Alex giggled. Mary joined her.
"Let's start with culture." Alex said. She opened a database on her computer.
2 hours later...
"Alright, we finished the first part!" Mary told Alex triumphantly. Alex checked the time on her phone.
"Oh! I have to go." Alex said. She put all her belongings that she had brought into her bag.
"See you later." Alex told Mary.
"Bye!" Mary replied. It's 12:00, Alex thought, I have to go home and finish my chores. Otherwise, I won't be able to watch the accelerator be turned on. Alex walked out of Jitters and headed to her house. What an action packed day. When Alexis thought this, she had no idea of what was coming.
