Chapter 19: Mistaken

Jessy POV

She is my best friend. A friend who always stay by my side. I shouldn't have yelled like that.

I quickly turn my sight when I realize Jay was looking at me. At the club, we met with Leon, Jay and Sophia. Jay introduces Sophia to everyone.

After some time, Leon and Blake walk out from our table. I knew exactly what they are about to do. I shook my head. Sophia was talking to Jay. And I think I should give them privacy. So, I walked out from the table. I walked through the crowd and in a quick glance, I suddenly feel like I saw Edwin standing at the corner. He was staring at me.

I stopped. When I look at that direction, he is not there anymore. I close my eyes for a while and exhale.

Why must I see his shadow everywhere?

I quickly run out from that club. I walked at the sidewalk while looking frustrated. I wanted to scream out loud if can. Someone touch my shoulder. I get startled.

''Leave me alone, please'', I told that while closing my face with my palms.

''Jessy, It's me'', I heard Jay's voice. I lifted my head and see him. I exhale.

God...

''What happened?'', he asked.

''Nothing'', I told him shortly. He stared at me.

''You are hiding something. Tell me Jessy. What's your problem?'', he asked again.

''I told you nothing right. Don't keep nagging me'', I hissed to him.

''Why you are being this stubborn. Uh? I just wanted to help you'', I can see his pissed off face.

''Wanted to help me? Then, stay away from me!! I'm tired seeing your face. Go and enjoy yourself with your girlfriend. Why are you here at the first place? Just leave me alone'', I yelled to him.

I turned back and walk out from there. Jay stood still without saying anything. After bath, I put the over-sized shirt and sat on the couch.

God, how to stop these dreams?

I heard the bell rang. I see the clock. It's 11 pm. Who the hell come here at this time. I walked to the door and open it angrily. I saw Jay. When I about to close the door, he quickly put his hand over my door and stop me.

''What are you doing'', I asked him angrily.

He pushed the door and make himself enter inside. He closed the door and turned to see me.

''what are you thinking of? Get out from here!!'', I shout at him.

''She is not my girlfriend, damn it!!'', he raised his voice to me. I stare at him.

What did he say just now? Did I hear it wrongly?

''w...what?'' I asked him in disbelief. ''don't lie'', I turned my sight away from him.

My voice is not rude as before this. Jay grabbed my shoulders and gaze me seriously.

''She is not my damn girlfriend. You got me?'', he repeated again with his same tone. ''My mom is released from the prison'', his words make me shocked and turned to see him. He looked sad.

''Someone bailed her out. We went out to search about it. Sophia is my lawyer. She is my friend who worked as a detective. I hire my men to guard my place and people around me. She is harmful'', he said it out.

''Jay...'', guilt surrounded me. I step towards him. ''Why you didn't tell me?'', I ask him while holding his hands.

''I don't want to burden you with my problems. I don't want to make you worried about me'', He directly told me while looking at my eyes.
