Chapter 20: Searching for the truth

JAY POV

She always quickly fell asleep in my arms. She looked very comfortable. I'm glad I can make her happy. She gone through a lot. I won't let her no matter what.

We didn't find out who released my mom. She must have plan something big right now. I can feel it. Alivia's life might be danger in most. Or... Jessy, if she found out about my relationship with Jessy. She might try to kill her too.

My phone rang that time; enough to snapped me out. I slowly put my Jessy back to her pillow and took the call. It's from my Sophia. She asks me to meet her at morning. I wonder whether she found something. The next morning, I left the house to meet with Sophia. Jessy was still sleeping.

''Did you find out anything?'', I asked her.

''Jay, someone is really helping her doing the task but couldn't find who. We found out some cash in her bank account. I mean, it's pretty a large amount. She has no job. But I don't know how she get the money. I was banked in from this place's ATM. Just nearby ATM.'', she told me.

''Nearby ATM? Did you guys check the CCTV?'', I asked her.

''Yeah, we tried but the footage was gone.'', she replied.

I wonder how she can get the money. If she tried to kill us, she must have hire someone. But... something is really wrong. First, she doesn't take any actions yet; like she is waiting for a correct time, or stalling out time.

Suddenly my mind told me this.

''What if she was released because someone wanted to hire her.'', I told Sophia.

''I don't understand. Someone wanted to hire her to work? But, what kind of work?'', Sophia asked me back.

''Since we knew that she has been released from the prison, we try to search about her whereabouts but we couldn't find her. We are chasing her from one place to another but couldn't find her anywhere. It's like she purposely wanted to divert our attention on her. So that, I will only concentrate on her'', I told her what I think.

''Oh yeah, now you mention about it... you are right Jay. We always get the wrong information. If she wants to make her away from this city, what she wanted to do by that? Oh.... Now I get it. Maybe she wanted to take Alivia. She has been in your house isn't she?'', she clears her doubt.

''No, if she was hired by someone, she won't plot Alivia. It's someone else'', I told her.

While I was thinking deeply about this, I saw the news on the TV in front of me.

Reporter: He died on spot. It is said that he lost control and hit his car to another truck. Mr Davon was a good detective and he was known for solving complicate cases. Let us pray for his soul

They show me Mr Davon's picture in the news and the car crash photos.

''Mr Davon death? Hmmm.... He was a good detective. I heard a lot about him in my department'', Sophia looked sad.

Mr Davon? I felt like I heard his name somewhere. Where is it?

Jessy: While I was in my house, one middle age man came to meet me. Mr Davon was a private detective. He came all of sudden to ask about Edwin. It seemed like he was investigating the deaths of girls killed by Edwin

''He is the one who helped Jessy.'', I say while tapping the table on me. I knew Jessy mentioned about him.

''What you mean, Jay?'', Sophia asked me some question but my mind was thinking about something else.

No, it can't be possible. They are targeting Jessy.... but why? And then I remembered Jessy's words last night.

''DAMN.... Is he alive!!??'', I let out my frustration on the table. Sophia startled and puzzled.

''Jay, what happened?'', she asks me worriedly.

''You can access any footage right?'', I asked her and she nod.

''Good, I want to see something in Dreamy Night Club. The got CCTV inside. Maybe I can find out something'', I told her.
