"i'm pretty sure i wrote yes on a question asking what time it is," i announce and my friend, penelope, starts laughing before derek does, too.
"it's okay," he says, "'cause i think i did that, too."
i sit there and look at the chalkboard for a while before saying, "i can't believe that in four days we're graduating."
"yeah," a voice says as they walk in, "i'm going to miss it."
my head turns and i stare at daisie. she smiles and gives me a quick hug before sitting down next to me on the floor.
"this year, and our whole high school time, has gone by too fast."
"tomorrow is our last day of high school," i say before we all spend our time talking about all of our memories from these four years.

"oh my gosh!" i squeal as i run over to brett, who has his dog in his arms.i begin to pet him and brett says, "yeah, he has anxiety," as the poor little guy holds his paws around my hand.
i continue to pet him before my mom walks in with max. she quickly walks over to me and hands me the leash. "don't tell you father i was here. i don't need to be in trouble, too."
i laugh and give her a hug before walking back over to everyone. max plays with some of the other dogs, like brett's dog bentley and kyle's dog beans.
the next class came along and i'm walking max down the hall as one of my friends calls to his dog, chops, "come on chops, we've got shit to do."
we make eye contact before we both burst out laughing and i follow him up the stairs, with max trailing behind me. the time in the classroom is only filled with all of the seniors with their pets, for senior prank day, and the dogs playing and the cats being lazy.
the next two hours were boring, but full of animals nonetheless, and soon i'm standing in front of my next class as the bell rings. another one of my friends, riley, comes out of english with her puppy and starts to go down the stairs, but he gets scared along the way.
lunch comes around and i go to the parking lot to find daisie crying. "what's wrong, dais?"
"mittens ran off," she cries and i embrace her.
"it's going to be fine. she'll come back."
i didn't really know what to say, and i didn't actually know if she would, but that's what she needed at the moment and i was going to tell her it.
the rest of the day felt great and it was finally time to leave the high school, apart from having to come back the next morning to practice for graduation, and go home. i say goodbye to many of my younger friends before getting in my car with max and leaving.
truth. it's so lonely without all of the seniors. 5/11/17
