"it's so hot."

"that's because you're outside," the words escape my mouth, yet i couldn't give a care in the world.

calum turns to me and smirks. "you're something. something special."

"yeah," i say, "i know i'm special, hood."

i know it's supposed to be hot in june, but i didn't think it'd be this hot. i was thinking eighties, maybe nineties, but not in the hundreds. summertime should at least have some cold nights.

my attention goes from calum to luke who sits down next to me. i continue to stare at the boy beside me until he turns his head to look at me as well.

"yes, hana?" he asks and a smile starts spreading across my face. "calum, mate, your girlfriend is freaking the hell out of me."

"she'll stop if you start singing english love affair," he replies as he stares at his phone.

"seriously?" ashton asks, popping his head outside of the screen door, and calum tells him that i indeed stop doing anything when someone sings their song.

"when the lights go out," michael sings, the other boys coming in as well. "she's all i ever think about. the picture burning in my brain, kissing in the rain."

i smile as their voices sound as angelic in person as they do in the song, before it gets ruined by my phone ringing.

"hi, mom."

"hi, hon, just seeing if everything's going okay in california."

"it's great," i say as michael and calum start making noises.

"what are those nois— are you doing something?"

my eyes widen and start hitting the two boys. "no! that's just michael and calum."

"oh, i see. um, i'll let you get back to... them."

"mom, wai—" i then stare at my phone in disbelief before looking at the two idiots.

"my mom hung up on me because she thought i was having sex with you two!"

the looks on their faces as the words spill from my mouth didn't compare to them rolling on the ground laughing about the incident.

"i really don't like you two."

lie, lie, lie. i obviously love them. i mean, they are my favorite band.

"nah," ashton says, "you love us and you know it."

true.

"you did come see us on tour and you stalked us."

"how did i stalk you?" i ask them and cross my arms over my chest. "tell me, please."

"don't fan girls do that?" michael asks. "do they not scroll through our twitters and instagrams?"

okay, we do do that, but we shouldn't be named stalkers. it's not like we're predators and going to hurt them.

"leave me and the world of fan girls alone," i glare at him before leaving them and sulking in the patio chair.

"come on, hana, we didn't mean anything by it."

i continue to sulk in peace.

"hana, i love you."

i sulk in peace, i tell you.

"hana, you can't ignore us."

sulk. in. peace.

"hana!" i watch with wide eyes as calum comes running at me before jumping on top of me.

"hi," he says with a grin as he leans his head up to look at me. "you're cute."

sulk, hana, sulk.

"and i'm very fortunate and glad to have you as my girl."

okay, but no one can't not smile when a boy says that to you. especially your boy.

so, i do what any girl would do; i kissed him.
