"hana!" I turn my head at the sound of my name and smile as I see Jessalyn waving at me. She gets closer and closer until she's standing in front of me and wrapping her arms around my body. "three weeks without you has been the worst time of my life."

"no, it'd be the worst if we weren't to see each other for three years." she nods her head as we let go of each other and wait for maya to bring the car around.

"how was christmas?" i ask the british girl as i open the door to the backseat and put her bags on the seats.

"better than last years, that's for sure." i let her have the front seat as i then take the middle one in the back. we shut the doors and buckle our seatbelt as maya tries her best to get away from the airport.

"how was your family? still crazy as i remember?" jess laughs at maya's question.

"absolutely. they miss you guys and wish you could've come along with me."

"i do, too, and we had a missing piece of our heart while you were in london."

"aw," jess exclaims at my comment before grinning to herself.

the drive back to my house was long, very long, but we spent the long drive by shouting high school musical lyrics. the car stops and the three of us carry in jess's bags. we make it to the second floor and place her bags on the floor of my bedroom, before we go downstairs and meet my mom in the living room. maya and jess sits down on the couch next to my mom, and i sit down on the spot next to her.

she doesn't turn her head as she continues to watch the friends episode while placing popcorn into her mouth. "welcome back, jess, i've missed the hell out of you."

jess laughs as she says that she missed her, too, before she grabs a handful of popcorn and puts them all into her mouth. what good friends i have that i can call them family.
