Chapter 26

Clinton and Annette got out from Annette BMW which Butler J had driven to the congress party. It has been a long week for Annette after she had revile herself to Alex. Meeting after meeting, project after project that she had to review. It was nothing new to her, the only thing that new to her was that she miss Alex. Clinton was wearing a bold red dress while she was wearing a black dress that was tailor made for her size. Marcus too follow them as he was Clinton date for the night. And as promise, Clinton had introduce Annette to everyone that she was Clinton assistance. Annette smile and introduce herself, getting to know people that she knew was associate with her company. After a long hour, finally Annette manage to get away and walk to the garden which no one went to. She could feel her leg was so sore, she sat down and took out her heel.

"I am so not going to wear you anymore!" said Annette to her Gucci heel that Clinton had bought for her. Annette look up and saw the beautiful night sky, she wish that she was at home where she is comfortable with her pj.

"Surprise to see you here?" Annette turn around and saw Alex who standing behind her. She stood up and says,

"I did not see you inside earlier!"

"I did not want to be seen by too many people. Didn't know that you attend to parties, I thought maybe you like working behind the scene and betraying people that trust you." said Alex while he walk to the fountain which was in front of Annette.

"Ouch... you can really hurt someone by your words!" said Annette while she sat back down at the bench.

"Why the secrecy Annette?" said Alex. Annette look at him, not surprise by the question that he asked her.

"Alot of people ask the same question and the answer is everyone lie. They are liar and they are greedy when they see an opportunity. Alive.Co Value people. The people who work for us, the people who become our client, our customer and the people who build communities. I did not want greedy people to take opportunity in our company and that why the need of secrecy."

"And I said that coward!"

"But not to me." said Annette while she wear her heel and stood up.

"Don't you have something else to say to me?" demanded Alex. Annette stop at her track and turn around.

"I do actually. The fact that I lie about my identity does not mean my heart lie too. What I told you is the truth about me. And I would not want to make you understand about the other me that you see now."

"I let my wall down for you Annette, I let you enter my life and into my heart. And in return you betray me, what am I suppose to do now? Tell me Annette! What am suppose to do with his broken heart?" said Alex who was looking straight at her demanded for answer for his broken heart.

"Can you accept me now? This side of Maria, the real me?" said Annette prayed in her heart that he could accept the real her.

"I can't, not the owner of Alive.Co Not her!" said Alex. Annette nod her head and she expected he would said that but she wish that his answer were different.

"That your answer then. I am sorry to have broke your heart. It was not suppose to be this way!" said Annette while she walk back to the congress house leaving Alex with his broken heart.
