Chapter 28

After a deep consideration, Alex and the team agree with the settlement. They would not want anyone to know what happen and sign an agreement that allow no one else to know what happen. A month after the accident, things got back to what it use to be but without Maria in Alex life. His heart was hard as stone, he block out every woman who want to enter his heart. He just want to concentrate with the company. Mr MacLaine was not too happy that they took Annette offer. Ever since then he had not spoke to Alex as he was still angry with him but thing change with Liam. They became more close and Liam accept him back as his brother.

After a month, Alex received a call from Clinton request to meet. At first he did not want to meet her but after Clinton informed him that it was urgent so he agree to meet her. Clinton send him the address of the meeting place. After a long drive, finally he reach the destination.

He stop his car in front of a blue light house. He step out and felt strange on why he is there. He walk to the door and before he could press the bell, the door was open and he saw a man who he can remember meet at his apartment the night every thing happen.

"Good evening sir, come in. Mr and Mrs McDowell is expecting you." said Butler J. Alex walk in and was taken back of what he had saw. He could not believe that the inside of the light house were big. The light house was paint in light flowery color, flower were place every where. In front of him is a spiral stair case that bring them to the top which when he look up he could see the sky. Butler J escort him to the living room which was located at the back of the spiral stair case. The living room was bring with a glass panel lead to the back pouch where they could see the beach. The house was really beautiful, a woman must have decorated that house. On the right side was the kitchen and a stair case lead to the second floor. And on the left is a big door that lead them to the master bed room. Clinton and Marcus stood up and welcome Alex in. Alex look at them and says,

"Nice house with a great view. Impressive, guess that what you people stay in now a days." Clinton and Marcus smile and invite him to sit down on the black sofa that consist of 2 long sofa and 2 short sofa that make it a rectangle with a glass coffee table on the middle. Butler J serve Alex some tea and have place some light snack for them to enjoy while they talk.

"You call and sound desperate!" said Alex. When he said that, Alex could see from their expression something is going on.

"We called you was because of Annette." said Marcus.

"Not interested to know.' said Alex immediately he stood up and wanted to leave when Clinton says,

"She's missing!" Alex stop in his track and turn around.

"Right after we sign an agreement, she left. It was normal for her to go low but it was not when she called her personal lawyer which is not Marcus to transfer all her share to Clinton and had sign the company to Clinton and I." said Marcus.

"You should be happy that she give you the company." said Alex who did not find it weird the only weird is that they were not happy about it.

"If you think we are greedy for money Mr MacLaine your wrong. Because of her we have what we want. This house is not ours it hers. This beautiful light house was design and decorate by her. This is where all of her ideas come from." said Marcus again. Clinton walk to the table which there was a table full with photos that Annette had display. The photo of her dead family, photo of them, and a photo of herself. Clinton look at the photo of Annette and says,

"I meet her at the mall cubicle, the day that she wanted to kill herself right after the verdict of her killer was release. I saw a broken girl and also an opportunity. I was not all good at first when I told her to open a company with me. I was greedy and wanted to be the best. But she was always know what I wanted and allow me in the limelight instead of her even when it all her hard work. She received 2 million dollar after the death of her family and with that we open a finance company. It was small but it became profitable. She who did not know anything about finance but she pick up classes and follow the finance flows." Clinton turn around and says,

"One day, she found out that I have embezzle some on the company money. So she invited me to her previous home and talk to me. Instead of telling me to go or call the police, she embrace me and say that we don't need to be greedy and she forgive me if we continue to run the company clean. No dirty work and no foul play. She open my eyes saying that the money will sure to come in when we play fair. Play fair to the employee, to the client and to the people and told me to give it a go. And from there we play clean. If it down it down and if we sore high we share the profit and that what make it a multi billion dollar company."

"I was a beggar with a PHD in law. I was a alcoholic and a gambler. She saw something in me and believe in me. Took me in to the company and train me. Provide me an apartment and clothes. Push me and help me to overcome my addicts. She bought the goodness in people. She give every one a fair chance in live and hold on to them till we were able to be alone without her. Alive.Co is alive when she's is the leader. We don't need anything else then what she had provide us. Thanks to her I could have a family that I lose. Both of us are in dept to her. So no we don't need the extra share or the company we just need her. Because she is our family when no one want to!" said Marcus who was full of emotion coming out from him. Alex were speechless, he know what Marcus mean. She change his life too. She bought happiness in his heart too.

"She finally felt pain after meeting you. The heart that could never fill with love was once again fill with love and happiness. We were shock when she hit her feet to the coffee table because she could feel again. By now you should know of what happen to her, even when she have the world that become her family still her heart was empty but it change after meeting you. But that did not last." said Clinton while she walk back and sit with Marcus who hold her hand tight.

"Before she went missing, I walk into her bathroom after she had not come out for hours, I got worry and went in. When I walk in I was shock to see her in a bathtub full with blood. She was in a deep daze and had not realize that her thigh had a big cut. I quickly cover her and pull her out of the tub. When she saw it she only laugh and apologize to have make me worry. The doctor came and check her and said that if I did not walk in and check on her she would have died." said Butler J who to felt that he is in dept to Annette.

"She could not feel anymore?" said Alex.

"Please help us find her and take her back. If you were to leave her alone, I scare that she might died." said Clinton as she start t cry, feeling worry of Annette. Both Clinton and Marcus walk to Alex and hold his hand.

"We try to track her but fail to do so. Since she knew you, do you know where could she be?" said Marcus. Alex look at them not knowing if he should help them or not after Annette betray him. He still felt betray and his heart was broken.
