Chapter 13

The next day, Alice and Maria prepared breakfast at Alex suite. Alex woke Maria up in the morning saying that he wants her to make breakfast for him and he did want to eat at the breakfast area or order to the room. Maria had no choice but to call the resort to get the things for her and woke Alice up to help her. Maria sat next to him with a sour face and serve his food. Alex look at her, he like to irritate her that way.

"Pass me the pepper please!" he said to Maria. Maria took the pepper and pass it to him, and accidentally drop it near his place making alot of pepper went to the food. Alex look at her and became angry. But before he could scold her the his phone ring. He pick up the phone and heard his father voice.

"Alex are you at the club?" said Mr MacLaine.

"Yes I am."

"Good we are here at the course. Why don't you come down!" said Mr MacLaine.

"Can I bring some people dad?"

"Why not! We be waiting at VIP area alright!" said Mr MacLaine again, Alex look at Maria and says,

"Get change and all of us is going some where!" he said while he stood up and walk back to his room.

"He said we can do anything!!" said Alice.

Bruno stop the car in front of the course. After 10 minutes of arguing about weather they should walk or let the hotel cart take them finally Maria and Alex agree to take the car. Once they got down from the car Maria, Alice and Bruno saw they there are at horse racing course. Alex walk up to the VIP section, they follow him. Once inside the VIP section they saw Mr MacLaine and Liam was there talking. The VIP section is a big room which facing the race course, they have sofa seat and buffet so that the VIP can have it during the race.

"Oh...you are here. You brought your house maids and driver!!" said Mr MacLaine. He did not mind at all that his son brought them but it was strange that he was close to them more then is other friends.

"Yeah...You don't mind right dad?" said Alex.

"No not at all. Seat, enjoy the race and help yourselves with the buffet. The race start in 10 minutes." said Mr MacLaine. Alex seat next to his dad while Maria was sitting next to him but looking at Alice and Bruno. Alex and Maria back was facing each other without realizing it they were leaning against each other.

The race start, everyone was tense and they start to cheer for the horse that they have bet on. Maria did not like betting so see the race is not an ideal thing to do. She stood up when suddenly someone grab her wrist. He turn around and saw that Alex was holding her hand. Alex pull her down and says,

"Where do you think you are going?"

"Taking drinks!"

"Good. 3 whiskey on the rock!"

"It a buffet and it's call DIY do it yourselves kind of a thing." said Maria.

"And it's also called your job!!!" said Alex. Maria pull her wrist back, stood up and get the whiskey that Alex ask. While she was placing  Mr MacLaine glass on the table suddenly he stood up and start shouting,

"I won!!!HAHAHA!!" Everyone look at Mr MacLaine, they were shock to see that he won cause he never win anything. Alex and Liam stood up and congratulate him. Mr MacLaine look at Maria and hug her.

"Thank you.....you are lucky!!" said Mr MacLaine.

"I'm sorry sir but I not lucky." said Maria while Mr MacLaine let go of the hug and look at her.

"You are cause I never won anything before. I'm going to bet again and will see whether you are lucky or not. Come on Bruno come with me." said Mr MacLaine leaving with Bruno to bet again. Maria look at Alex who was looking at her.

"Lucky.. I think dad must be crazy!!" said Alex.

"Can I agree on that too!" said Maria.

Alex walk out of the washroom when he saw Liam was on the line. He remember what Maria said last night about talking to Liam. He breathe in and decided to give it a try. Liam disconnect the line when he saw Alex was walking towards him.

"Liam can we talk?" said Alex.

"It's it important?"

"Yes it is!"

"Alright, why don't we sat down at the cafe." suggest Liam.

When they got to the cafe, they order some drinks and Liam look at Alex waiting for him to say something.

"I'm sorry!" said Alex. Liam look at him and wait for him to continue.

"I know that you and mum was close. I kill her and I'm sorry that I took her away from you Liam." said Alex. Liam look at him brother angrily while trying to control himself. He did took his mother away from him. She was his everything, she was the only one who support him when everyone does not. He know that he was the weak one and his mother was there when he need the strength and when he got to know that his mother die because of Alex he could not accept it.

"I know you hate me..."

"If you know that why are we still having this conversation. You want me to forgive you....just don't talk to me just get you face away from me. I do hate you and it will not change. I hate you for killing mum, I hate you for being stronger, I hate you for making dad proud and I hate you because you are my brother." said Liam as he stood up. Tear who flowing down his face so does Alex.

"You became a jerk that everyone like while I became empty. So you got your answer live with it!" said Liam while he turn around and wanted to leave when Alex says,

"I will live with it but not leaving you behind. You say that you don't want to see me but I will make sure that you will accept me again. It either kill me or accept me brother. I am asking for forgiveness and I'll will wait till you forgive me. I want us to be brother again cause I know mum would want us to be together again. "

"Wait all you want." said Liam while he walk away.

"I will." said Alex to himself. Even though his brother did not accept it but he feel his heart became lighter that before. It did work, Maria was right.
