As the two "newly weds" sulked in the back seats, David and the other man were talking.
"So, how did our new recruits take the news?" -The man asked, a smirk plastered on his face.
"You should've seen them. They acted like babies! I don't know why we were instructed to even recruit them, they're childish as fuck." -David explained and groaned, earning a chuckle from the other man.
The other man turned around and looked over at Tyler.
"So Tyler, you've finally been caught. How do you feel?" -He asked in a mocking tone.
"Fuck off." -Tyler growled, not taking his eyes away from the window.
David chuckled, and shook his head in disapproval, glancing at Tyler with the rearview mirror.
"Watch your mouth. Even if I was instructed to get you to the LAAU building, no one said I have to get you there in one piece." -David said, smirking.
Tyler rolled his eyes, and went back to staring out the window. David checked on Evan, and saw that he was also distracted.
"They're a pretty odd pair to partner up though, don't you think Brock?" -David asked, having a little mix of curiosity and concern in the tone of his voice.
"Yeah, I think the chief is going crazy. Or he's just on some kind of drugs." -Brock said jokingly, but he really was suspicious on the inside, even if he wasn't showing it.
David sighed.
"Yeah, well...they're gonna have to get used to each other. Just like we're gonna have to get used to them." -He grumbled.
~~~
They finally reached their destination. David instructed the pissed off pair to get out of the car, and they obeyed silently.
When they got out, they looked around and noticed they were in front of a giant building located on the outskirts of LA.
"Come on, let's go." -David called out to them, already standing at the doors of the building.
They slowly shuffled their way over to him, followed by Brock and several more agents and officers.
As they entered inside, David made a beeline for the reception desk in the lobby.
Confused as to what they were supposed to do while David chatted with the person behind the reception desk, they followed his example as well.
When they approached the front desk though, they heard something that made them stop dead in their tracks.
"The chief also included that they'll have to share an apartment, since it's easier to monitor both of them at the same time and place." -The woman informed.
David turned to the pair that looked like they were ready to kill someone and just smirked.
"Hear that? Things are going just mighty fine for you two, huh?" -He mocked, making the pair grow even more mad.
"I am not sharing an apartment with him! Mr.SkilledPoliceOfficer is probably a clean freak!" -Tyler hissed, looking at Evan with disgust.
"Well excuse me, Mr.I have a messy apartment because I'm such a busy hacker I don't have time to do the laundry!" -Evan retaliated.
"Hey!"
Tyler swung his fist at Evan, but he managed to catch his arm and twist it backwards, making Tyler hiss in pain. Evan continued twisting his arm until it was behind his back and he was completely restrained.
"Maybe you should learn a little hand-to-hand combat instead of sitting on your ass in front of a computer and breaking the law 24/7." -Evan growled, getting more riled up.
Tyler kicked Evan in the knee and managed to get out of his hold. He kicked Evan's leg from underneath him and went he fell to the ground, he kept him from moving by putting one foot on his chest.
"Maybe you should learn to never underestimate your enemies, and think the fight is over after you've restrained them." -Tyler said, using air quotations when he said restrained.
"And for the record, I carried out every single crime on foot and on the field."
A smirk played on his lips as a scowl settled upon Evan's. David and the lady at the desk just watched this all play out, and when it was seemingly over, David turned back to her.
"Are you sure these are the two most skilled agents LAAU could possibly have? Cause to me, they look like children." -The woman asked, letting out a giggle as she watched them continue bickering further.
"Beats me. That's what the chief said, although this is not the weirdest decision he has made." -David said, shrugging.
"Well, anyway, I think I should take them to meet him now."
"Good luck with that David." -She said, chuckling.
"Thanks Nat, I'll need it." -David grumbled as he strode over to the two partners.
"Alright ladies, let's go. Time for you to meet the man in charge." -David said as he approached them.
"Piss off suit man!" -Tyler said.
"Suit man? Is that the best you can do?" -David questioned.
"Fuck off."
David grinned and laughed, motioning the two of them to follow him. And so they did.
They walked down the first hallway and stopped at an elevator. After waiting for a ridiculous amount of time just for an elevator to show, it finally came down.
After they reluctantly went in, David pushed the biggest button that stood out.
After a few minutes of awkward silence, the door to the elevator opened and they were all greeted with a sight of a big office desk and a grinning man sitting at it.
"Well that's not creepy at all." -Evan commented, making David and the man burst out into laughter.
Evan and Tyler though, stayed silent and waited for whatever was about to happen to play out.
It's 5 am right now, point out grammar mistakes if I left them unnoticed.
Hey, Fibbi here.
Sorry for the long delay, but I took a small break from writing.
But I'm back, I guess you can say.
Anyway, the next chapter should be up later this week, depending on my mood.
That's all.
Fibbi Out!
