"What do you mean he knows something?" -Brock questioned as he and David entered their office.
"He knows something he isn't telling us." -David simply replied, taking a seat on his chair.
"Is it about Tyler? He looked like he was thinking about something." -Brock asked, crossing his arms.
"Maybe. But he looked kind of doubtful, so I don't think so."
"So what was he thinking about?"
David shrugged. He suddenly felt his phone vibrate and he pulled it out seeing his sister was calling.
"Hey Nat. What's up?"
"When are you planning to take Evan and Tyler on their first mission?" -She asked.
"Probably at the end of the week. You know, to get them adjusted to each other." -David replied, causing Natalie to chuckle.
"Are you doing anything right now?"
"No-"
"Then take them today." -Natalie suggested in a chipper voice.
David snorted.
"I don't think that's such a good idea. I need an easy mission because these idiots are mostly inexperienced anyway." -David responded.
"What are you talking about David? Evan is the best officer in LA and Tyler is on the 'LA's Most Wanted' list. I'm pretty sure combat shouldn't be a problem for them." -Natalie noted, a grin across her face.
"I wish that was the problem. But I was talking about teamwork. If they won't be able to communicate and work together, we could be screwed on the spot."
Natalie sighed.
"Well, how else are you gonna teach them to work together if you don't put them in situations which require teamwork?"
David opened his mouth but closed it right afterwards. She had a good point. David sighed but a grin made its way to his face nonetheless.
"Okay. What do you got for us?"
~~~
David and Brock burst through the doors of Tyler and Evan's office, startling Evan a bit but not bothering the sleeping Tyler.
"Wake him up. We're taking you two on your first mission." -David spoke, a seemingly evil grin on his face.
Before Evan could react, the two were already out of their office with another door slam.
Evan rolled his eyes and stood from his chair, turning his gaze to Tyler.
What would be the most efficient way to wake someone up?
Evan's guess was knocking Tyler out of his chair. And it worked like a charm.
After shouting a quick "what the fuck", Tyler picked himself up from the ground and glared at Evan.
As Tyler was about to yell at him, Evan started walking towards the direction of the door while speaking.
"They told me to wake you up. We're going somewhere."
Tyler groaned, but followed Evan out the door, knowing that having another argument with him now would be another waste of time.
~~~
David and Brock led Evan and Tyler into one of the meeting rooms that wasn't in use at the moment.
After they were all sat down, David cleared his throat as he scanned over the files in his hands.
"Alright. Seeing as you two are already skilled in combat and don't need training, I picked a decent mission that I'm sure we could all handle together." -David explained.
"The mission is to bring down the new gang in town. They're called Bloody Hellhounds, and they've been getting very violent recently. The gang was formed a few months ago, and for them to already be on the list of the most dangerous gangs in the city has been very concerning to the authorities."
"Wow. Who made up their name? It sounds like a ten-year-old thought of it." -Tyler commented sarcastically, rolling his eyes.
"Aside from their childish sounding name, they're very dangerous. They have been mercilessly killing innocent people they come across. And now, they're our problem to take care of." -David said.
"We've sent out a spy to track their movements, and he ended up finding their base. All we have to do is infiltrate the building and take them out." -Brock spoke.
"Sounds simple." -Evan commented.
"Kind of. We also have to be stealthy and take them one by one, because the place is huge and we wouldn't stand a chance against their numbers." -David continued.
"That's pretty much it. Any questions?"
"Do you know any of their identities?" -Tyler asked.
"We don't. Everywhere they've shown up, they wore red masks resembling the devil himself." -Brock answered.
"Anything else?" -David repeated.
After a few seconds of silence, David took that as a no and stood up from his chair.
"Alright then. Let's roll."
~~~
David led the two partners into the armoury of the building.
"Okay, I need to know which weapon you best work with. Also, if you're better sniping from afar or attacking on ground." -David said.
The pair looked around the room and eyed every single gun, recognizing almost all of them.
"I'm trained in both." -Evan said with a shrug.
"I'm good at both as well." -Tyler said.
"Okay, so me and Tyler will attack on ground while Evan will be sniping." -David stated.
"Just pick a gun and meet me outside the building. Also, don't forget to grab a silencer for it." -David said, picking up a HK45 Tactical pistol and walking towards the door.
"Wait, isn't Brock coming with us?" -Evan questioned.
"Nope, he'll communicate with us from the LAAU building and give us heads up about nearby attackers, potential opportunities and such. He works better behind a computer than on the field." -David explained, walking out of the room.
The pair looked around the room once again and each grabbed the appropriate gun for the mission. Evan grabbed a Barret M82 sniper rifle while Tyler grabbed a Nighthawk Recon pistol.
They met David outside and got in David's car, heading off to the base of the Bloody Hellhounds.
