Evan has been following Tyler for about half an hour now, and by now, Tyler stopped running. Evan assumed it was because he was about to reach his destination, or he just got tired.

He already crossed out the possibility that Tyler might've contacted someone to pick him up when he used his phone, because the person picking him up would've done so a long time ago.

They were pretty far away from the LAAU apartment building already.

Suddenly, an old warehouse came into view, and Evan had a feeling that was Tyler's destination, for whatever reason.

He was right.

Tyler walked towards the warehouse, unknowingly followed by Evan, and entered.

Once inside, he went to the very back of it, reaching an area with lots of old-looking crates and boxes lying around.

Evan hid behind a crate and watched Tyler dig through a box. A few seconds later, he pulled out a wad of cash and stuffed it away somewhere in his jacket, which Evan found even more suspicious.

He figured now was the best time to face him and get some answers, before he somehow fled from Evan's sight and disappear.

So he stepped out from behind the crates and quietly approached him.

"Out for a morning walk?" -He asked.

Tyler, startled by Evan's unexpected presence, whipped his head around and nervousness was evident on his face.

He looked like a child getting caught doing something he shouldn't have been doing.

"Uhh, what are you doing here?" -He asked, confused.

"I could ask you the same thing." -Evan replied with an amused tone.

"Was this your escape plan?"

Tyler sighed and swiftly changed his demeanor from nervous to annoyed.

"Listen. You're not gonna stop me. I have to get this to someone, escaping is the last thing on my mind right now." -He said, starting to walk towards the entrance of the warehouse.

"Oh yeah? I don't believe you." -Evan said, moving to stand in Tyler's way.

"I don't care if you don't, you're not stopping me."

"Stopping you from what?" -Evan questioned.

"None of your business. Move out of the way." -Tyler said, trying to walk around him.

"Not until you tell me where you're going." -Evan persisted.

Tyler sighed again, and shot an frustrated look to Evan.

"Move." -Tyler said in a warning tone.

However Evan held his ground and stared back at him with questioning eyes.

"Make me."

Tyler narrowed his eyes and contemplated on what to do. Without thinking, he pushed Evan slightly backward, preparing for a backlash from him and eventually - a fight.

Except Evan just straightened his stance, crossed his arms and kept a stern look on his face.

The look of a child not giving up about not getting an answer for a certain topic.

"Just tell me where you're heading. Whether I'll try to stop you or not depends on where you're going and what you're doing." -Evan said.

Tyler looked down at the ground and sighed once again. He put his hands in his pockets, looking back at Evan and meeting his curious gaze.

"Fine. Ever since my mom and dad divorced, I've been sending her money to support her because she doesn't make enough money to support herself." -Tyler said.

"Now will you please move?" -Tyler asked, slightly pleading, almost desperately.

Evan took a few seconds before he realised what Tyler said. After he did so, he titled his head a bit and began to ponder whether or he was telling the truth.

But after studying Tyler's expression, he decided to believe him.

"Fine." -Evan agreed, and Tyler looked slightly relieved.

"But I'm coming with you."

Tyler gave him a confused look.

"Why?"

To which Evan snorted.

"To make sure you won't just run off. You might be lying for all I know."

Tyler thought about it for a few seconds, before he shrugged and started walking towards the exit.

"Okay, come on then."

~~~
Tyler and Evan walked together in silence to Tyler's mother's house. By the time they reached her neighborhood, it was already early morning and the sun was slowly rising.
As they reached the house, they walked up to the door and Tyler raised his hand to knock but soon stopped himself.
"What's wrong?" -Evan asked curiously.
Tyler turned his head back slightly to meet Evan's gaze, and Evan noticed he looked slightly guilty and regretful.
"I...haven't seen neither of my parents ever since I dropped out of college." -He spoke unsurely and frowned.
He looked back at the door, and after a few seconds, he knocked a few times.
They waited for about ten seconds before the door opened, revealing a short woman with turquoise eyes that matched Tyler's and a tired expression across her face.
However her face lit up as soon as she realised who was at the door.
"Tyler?" -She asked cautiously, as to make sure she wasn't dreaming.
Tyler nodded, offering a sad smile.
"Tyler!" -She exclaimed and enveloped her son in a bear hug.
Tyler hugged her back with almost equal force she was using, careful not to break the poor woman.
They stood like that for a few seconds, before she pulled away and inspected him.
"You've changed so much ever since I last saw you." -She spoke, tears of joy, relief and sadness already running down her face.
"Yeah..." -Tyler trailed off.
He could feel tears pricking the corners of his eyes, but he held back from crying.
It was only then that his mother noticed the other man beside him.
"Who's that?" -She asked.
"He's uh...can we just come in? I'll explain everything."
His mother glanced from Evan to Tyler and she nodded.
"Okay."
