"Are you nuts?" -Brock questioned.

"Nah I'm fine." -David dismissively waved his hand as he spoke.

As Brock, Evan and Tyler were about to enter the diner, they ran into David who had left the hospital earlier than he was supposed to be dismissed, as usual.

"You're supposed to be resting. You got the shit beat out of you." -Brock said, resisting the urge to facepalm.

"And I'm still kicking." -David grinned, which made Brock roll his eyes.

"Shall we?" -He asked as he entered the diner first.

The other three followed his lead and entered the building. It was a small and pretty old looking diner, and the smell of coffee and eggs hung in the air. They picked a booth and sat down.

Tyler and Evan, being new to this place, grabbed the menu and skimmed-through the options. Not long after they sat down, a waitress approached their table.

"Good morning gentlemen." -She greeted the group with a smile.

"Morning." -David and Brock greeted in unison.

"So, what will it be?"

"I'll have some apple pie with some water." -Broke ordered.

"Just get me some black coffee tonight." -David said.

"Alright, what about you two? What will you have?" -She asked and smiled.

"I'll have some scrambled eggs and a soda." -Evan ordered.

Tyler paused for a second, before putting down his menu and ordering.

"Bacon burger and a soda."

The waitress nodded and quickly wrote their orders down. With that, she left their table and headed for the kitchen.

While they waited for their food, David and Brock talked whilst Tyler and Evan awkwardly sat in silence and either looked around the diner or stared at the table.

David noticed an odd atmosphere surrounding the pair. He assumed the two must've fought or something because they sat further away from each other than when they sat next to each other in the car the night they were brought in.

He glanced at Brock and saw that Brock glanced at him as well. He gave him a quick nod, which indicated that he had noticed the odd atmosphere as well.

Luckily, their food and drinks arrived shortly after, which made it easier for everyone to pretend like nothing was wrong as they ate, except David who was sipping his coffee.

After they finished their meals, David payed for all of it and the four of them left the diner and drove home.

David greeted Kristen at the reception desk and walked to the elevator.

"Oh, I almost forgot." -David spoke up as soon as the door closed.

"While we were out, Brock sent someone to bring you guys some clothes. They should be in your apartment waiting for you."

They exited the elevator and walked to their apartments. They opened the door and noticed there were two duffle bags placed next to the couch.

"Next time when both of you leave, at least lock the door. The building is secure, but you never know who might get in undetected." -David said, and witht that left their apartment.

They both went to check the duffle bags and sure enough, they contained new clothes marked for each of them. Surprisingly, whoever picked out the clothes got the right size for them and the right style. Tyler dragged his bag to his room and went back to the living room, wanting to watch some TV.

As he returned though, he saw Evan picking the lock on their balcony door.

"What are you doing?" -Tyler questioned as he walked up to him.

"Baking a cake. What does it look like I'm doing?" -Evan said sarcastically.

"Why does a 'noble police officer' like you know how to pick a lock?" -Tyler asked, rolling his eyes.

"I'm a field offier. Do you think I always go through the front door?" -Evan asked, and soon after the lock clicked and he opened the door.

Tyler shrugged.

"Where are you going anyway?"

"Home."

"Home?"

"Yeah. I need to grab a few things. And you're coming with me." -He said, gesturing towards the door.

"Why?"

"I'm not gonna leave you alone just so you can have an easier opportunity to escape. And if you refuse, I'll knock you out and drag you there myself." -He explained.

Tyler crossed his arms and stood still. Evan raised his eyebrow.

"I'm not going." -Tyler stated.

Evan rolled his eyes and spoke.

"We can either do this the easy way or the hard way."

"Hard way it is then."

The two stared each other down, testing to see if one of them would back down. Neither of them did though.

Evan was the one who attacked first.

He ran at Tyler and swung at his head. Tyler swiftly blocked the punch and kicked Evan in the leg. Evan quickly recovered and aimed a punch at Tyler's stomach. Tyler succesfully blocked the punch but Evan managed to hit punch Tyler's nose.

Tyler quickly recoiled and kept walking back as he blocked incoming punches from Evan. For the next punch Evan threw, Tyler grabbed his wrist. Evan tried getting out of his hold and failed to notice Tyler's knee flinging towards his stomach.

Evan hunched over and Tyler seized this opportunity to kick him. Evan fell back onto the floor and Tyler went to kick him again but Evan grabbed his foot and threw off his balance, making him fall on the floor as well.

Tyler quickly jumped back and flung himself at Evan. He towered over him and started choking him.

Evan grabbed his hands in an attempt to loosen his grip but to no avail. He kept struggling until he noticed something had fallen from a nearby table which they had bumped into causing it to fall.

His taser. He reached out and tried to grab it. As his vision slowly got blurrier, he struggled to take hold of it but he managed to succeed after a few tries. As soon as he grabbed it, he quickly pulled it closer and turned it on, slamming it against Tyler's side.

Tyler screamed and his hold on Evan's throat loosened. A few seconds later, his body fell on top of Evan as he passed out. Evan started coughing as he struggled to breathe.

After he was able to catch his breath, he pushed Tyler off of him and stood up. He let out a sigh, before grabbing Tyler's hands and dragging him towards the balcony.

Merry Christmas everyone!

I'm sorry it's been awhile, but school's finally out and I managed to update.

I also changed up some parts that make it easier for me to keep writing this book.

I can't say if I'm back yet or if this is just a random update because new ideas randomly hit me, because I don't even know that myself.

I guess we'll find out, depending on if I update soon or not.

Anyways, happy holidays and I hope you enjoyed reading.
