David pulled up in front of the apartment building and parked the car.
"This apartment building was built specifically for LAAU agents. Most of them live here, whilst the rest live elsewhere." -David explained.
He got out of the car and the pair followed him into the building. When they walked in, they saw an old lady sitting behind a reception desk. She smiled immediately as they walked in.
"Hey David. How was work today?" -She asked as the trio approached her.
"Fine. Well, if you call recruiting the most childish people in the world as new agents and getting assigned as their babysitter fine, that is." -David complained, making the woman chuckle.
"I'm sure you'll be able to handle it. After all, you've had it worse." -She said.
"Yeah yeah, thanks Kristen. I'm gonna need the key for room number 27, please."
Kristen nodded, turning to her computer to type something out. Once she checked that everything was fine, she took out a numbered key out of a drawer and handed it to David.
"Here you go. By the way, how's Natasha? Is she holding up well?" -She asked.
"She's working hard and overtime. You know, the usual." -David said, letting out a sigh.
"She should take a break though. I'm worried about her state of being."
Kristen gave him a reassuring smile.
"She probably just wants to rank up to your level. She'll take a break soon enough, I'm sure."
"I hope you're right. Good night Kristen."
"Good night David."
David turned around and gestured to the pair, who had been standing around awkwardly up until this point, to walk towards the elevator.
They went up to the fourth floor and followed David to their new apartment.
When they reached door number 27, David unlocked the door and opened the door.
"And here we are!" -David exclaimed as Tyler and Evan walked in to look around the apartment.
"It has an open kitchen and living room, as you can see, a balcony, two bedrooms and a bathroom. Nothing too fancy, but more than decent."
Tyler walked to the couch and sat down, almost bouncing off of it, causing David to chuckle.
"Don't forget, we are monitoring you 24/7. Also, I live two doors away, if you have any intentions of escaping, Tyler." -David said, making Tyler roll his eyes.
"Wait, every room is monitored?" -Evan asked, and David nodded.
"Even the bathroom?"
David chuckled once again.
"Who knows, maybe. Bye now." -He said with a grin and exited their new apartment.
Evan narrowed his eyes and looked towards Tyler, who just shrugged.
"I guess we'll find out." -He said tiredly and let out a yawn.
Evan went to check out the rest of the apartment while Tyler got comfortable on the couch and planned to take a nap.
He was drifting away, but was woken up by someone shaking him. He groaned displeasingly and opened his eyes, being met by a slightly pissed of Evan.
"Move, I wanna watch TV."
Tyler just closed his eyes again, ignoring Evan.
Evan sighed, and did what he had to: he pushed Tyler off the couch.
"Hey!"
Evan sat down on the couch and turned the TV on. Tyler rolled his eyes and stood up, walking over to the kitchen while Evan flipped through random channels.
Tyler opened the fridge and found that it was decently full. He felt lazy making a full meal, so he just grabbed some simple ingredients to make a sandwich.
As he went to cut the cheese, he suddenly remembered something important. He quickly put everything back.
"I'm going to sleep." -He announced, walking towards the direction of one of the bedrooms.
"Mhm." -Was all he got in response as Evan was becoming tired himself.
After about fifteen minutes, Evan started to become really tired and decided that he'd head off to sleep as well.
He walked to the room opposite of Tyler's and crashed onto the bed, falling asleep shortly after.
~~~
Evan woke to the sound of his door opening. He was a light sleeper, so this wasn't weird.
However, someone entering his room in the middle of the night was definitely weird, and Evan was on high alert.
He kept his eyes closed and prerended to be asleep while listening closely.
The person walked over to the right side of his bed and it sounded like they grabbed something off of his night stand. And the only thing he had there was his phone.
A small light emitted from his right side, and it comfirmed that it was his phone indeed, and the person was using it.
He opened his eyes just enough to see that the person in his room, doing something on his phone - was Tyler.
He closed his eyes again and soon after, Tyler exited his room. After he did so, Evan jumped up from his bed and grabbed his phone.
It didn't seem like he did something to it, but he definitely did something.
He checked the time and saw that it was still dawn. Then he heard the front door of their apartment open and quickly shut.
"Shit." -Evan mumbled and shoved the phone into his pocket.
He quickly left his room and quietly exited their apartment. He didn't see anyone in the hallway, but he saw that someone was going down the elevator.
Evan quickly went to use the stairs, thinking that Tyler decided to make a break for it and escape.
He also figured that Tyler potentially used his phone to contact one of his other criminal buddies to pick him up or something.
"That can't be right, his gang members were all shot dead. Who else could he have?" -Evan thought as he descended the stairs.
He finally reached the first floor and quietly exited the building. He spotted a shadow running across the road, and he quickly but sneakily went to follow it.
He was determined not to let Tyler escape, not if he could do anything about it.
