As soon as the four of them arrived to LAAU, they headed for the interrogation room. Tyler and David entered the small room, whilst Evan and Brock went into the room beside it, the one with the one way mirror.
Just like David stated yesterday, he questioned Tyler about his and Lui's business. The location, how long it's been going and questions like that.
Tyler didn't hesitate and answered his questions with as many details he could. He had nothing to lose now, he was already in their paws and Lui hated his guts. And for the first time, he felt like he wouldn't be able to escape. Well, easily.
David listened to Tyler's words carefully and even wrote some things down. Of course, their conversation was being recorded, but he knew he'd be lazy to go back and listen to the entire recording just to get some key details.
Those recordings were all mostly going to be archived and never looked at again.
Once David was done with his questions and Tyler was done with his story, Evan and Tyler were sent to their office, meanwhile David and Brock went to talk to the chief.
Once they had arrvied at his office, the chief greeted them with a smile.
"Agent Nagle, agent Reed. What are my favorite agents up to?" -He asked, scratching his beard.
"Just to report a few things sir. They all have something to do with Tyler." -David spoke.
The chief nodded, urging him to speak.
"Well, first of all, this early morning Tyler shut off the security cameras we set up for his and Evan's apartment using Evan's phone." -David said in a voice as if that was the most ridiculous thing that left his mouth.
"I didn't expect anything less of him David. That's why I wanted to recruit him. And it's also why we set up the backup ones." -The chief said.
"Go on."
"The next part, I didn't really get at the beggining. The alarm for the cameras being shut off went off later, so I didn't manage to stop them right away. When it did, I got to their apartment only to find it empty. I was confused, so I called Brock to wake him up and to look at the backup camera's footage. By looking at the recordings, we found out that Evan had followed Tyler out of their apartment, and out of the building."
David looked over at Brock, nodding at him to continue.
"Well, I would've tracked Evan's phone through his GPS, if he hadn't left it back at their apartment. That made things a little more difficult. So to find them, we had to do a little fast digging. While trying to find a location Tyler would've gone to, I accidentally discovered something else. Tyler's mother, Hannah Wilde, had been receiving letters from the same adress every month ever since Tyler's supposed comeback to LA." -Brock explained.
"The adress the letters were sent from an old abandoned warehouse located just outside of LA, next to more abandoned warehouses. We decided to check it out, since we thought we might find both of them there. But when we arrived to the warehouse, no one was there. Since Tyler has been sending his mother letters, we thought she might still have contact with him and could help us finding him. Funny enough, we drove to her house, not expecting them to be there too, but they were. Sitting on the front porch, talking." -David continued.
"I told David to not question them why they were there. It just...didn't seem important for us to know. Plus, Tyler was crying." -Brock added.
The chief gave him a weird look, tilting his head slightly to the side, as if not believing him.
"Anyway, that's not what matters. We found them, that's all we were supposed to do, right? Not find out their reasons." -Brock spoke.
The chief started laughing, his breathy laugh echoing throughout his office.
His laugh always sounded like he was choking, and David and Brock always made sure to carefully observe his body language while he laughed like that to make sure he wasn't actually choking.
"You're right Brock, don't worry. Their reasons don't matter." -The chief replied, crossing his arms and leaning closer to them.
"Anything else?" -He asked.
"Yes, actually. Yesterday, while interrogating Nick Adams, Tyler mentioned something about his and Lui Calibre's drug and weapon trafficking business. So today, we interrogated Tyler about that too." -David responded.
"Surprisingly, he didn't hold back with details either." -Brock added.
"Yeah. He didn't even hesitate to answer anything." -David agreed.
The chief scratched his beard again, this time in thought, and cast his look through the window of his office. Several seconds of silence had passed, and the chief finally spoke up.
"He probably feels like staying silent now would prove to be useless anyways. Anything else to report?" -He asked as he turned back to them.
David eyed him weirldly, and Brock nodded.
"Well, there is one more thing..." -Brock trailed off.
"Yes?"
"We let Tyler and Evan try to interrogate Nick yesterday. And Tyler kind of...broke his nose?" -Brock spoke unsurely.
The chief, at hearing this, started laughing his breathy laugh again and Brock and David took a few cautionary steps towards him.
After the chief finished laughing, he put on a serious and professional expression.
"Is that all?"
"That's all sir."
"Well, if that's all, you're dismissed. Good luck with Tyler and Evan."
David and Brock nodded, slowly walking to the exit of his office.
"By the way-"
They turned back curiously at the chief's sudden calling.
"-make sure they don't disappear or wander off on their own again. There are much more useful things to waste LAAU resources on than finding two idiots." -He said with a grin.
"Yes sir." -The two said in unison and walked out of the office.
As soon as the door closed, Brock let out a chuckle.
"See? He admitted they're idiots too. Why did he recruit them in the first place?" -He said, and chuckled again.
He silenced himself soon afterwards though as he saw David was frowning and seemingly hadn't heard what Brock had said to him.
"David?" -He called as he shook his shoulders lightly.
"He knows something."
