KaceyI cannot believe we all got detention for a tiny thing that happened at lunch.
Flashback-
"Hey guys! So how was it so far?" I asked them all once we sat in our area.
"Could've been better," Spencer answered. "One of my teachers kept flirting with me. She was 80."
Sara and Jack immediately burst out laughing.
"It's not funny! I felt really violated," he exclaimed, closing his jacket.
"Babe. We're not laughing at you, we're laughing with you."
Spencer glares before turning to me, his eyes growing mischievous. "Hey well at least I didn't get hit by a car like little Ms. No Mate over here."
I laugh, smugly. "Well I am very happy to inform you that I have found my mate. The only problem is I don't know if he's going to accept me or not so," I grab my spoon full of mashed potatoes and fling it at his face. "suck it."
He smears the food off of his eye. "Oh! Congratulations." He takes the cheese off his pizza and throws it at me. I dodge it, making it hit Jack in the face.
"Oh it's on now bitches." He smirks evilly and throws a bread roll at Sara.
Sara then throws her bread roll at Jack. Jack tries to dodge it fast but it hits him right in the nose. I start laughing.
"You think that's funny?"
I shake my head no, worried of what's coming to me.
"Then why are you laughing?" He asks with an 'innocent' smile on his face.
"I wa-" I'm cut off by him dumping his fruit on me.
"ENOUGH!" One of the administrators catch us.
Sara turned away and pretended she had no part in it. Jack froze with his face full of fear. I just sat there and Spencer put his apple in my hand and said I started it.
Fuck you, Spencer.
"All of you. Detention."
"Fuck." We all said in unison.
*Flashback over*
Goodness, where are they? I refuse to walk in there by myself.
Just as my frustration was rising, Spencer came strolling over to me with a smug grin on his face.
"Didn't want to walk in alone, huh?" he asked, cockily making me roll my eyes.
"Shut up! You don't know me," I argued. He scoffed.
"Kacey, I know you better than you know yourself," he responded as he opened the door and gestured for me to walk in first.
Shit! I hate that he's right.
Having no more room to argue, I shut my mouth and walked in.
"Thanks for shutting your mouth for once."
Looks like some room opened up!
I whipped my head around faster than the speed of light, making him flinch.
"You do know that the only reason I tolerate you is because it would break Sara's heart if I murdered you, right?"
He chuckled like the arrogant asshole that he is, moving closer to me.
"Kacey, it's been nine years. When are you going to stop pretending you don't love me?" he asked, his eyes seeping into my soul.
He always does this to intimidate me. It's not going to work this time.
"Once you stop being a jackass," I answered, matching his energy.
He blinked once at my answer, really taking it in. That didn't stop our battle of intimidation as we kept our stance, his eyes searching for something in mine.
"Hey..." he started, in a daze. "I've been looking into your eyes for a while now and I'm not... you're not a descendant of Medusa!" he accused, making my eyes widen.
Oops!
When we were little, I told him that I was a descendant of Medusa because he loved making the most intense eye contact with me to creep me out as kids. It was the only way to get him to stop!
"Damn it!" I cursed. He was never supposed to find out.
"So you were lying to me this whole time, huh?" he asked, never once taking a step back.
"Well, you were believing me this whole time, so..." I trailed off, making him smirk.
"Looks like I've got to make up for all those years I couldn't make you feel uncomfortable with my sexiness."
I let out a loud cackle.
"You? Stop, I'm gonna pee!" I said through laughter, my stomach already hurting from the pain. "Oh my goodness!"
He was offended as I got my life after that joke he just told!
"You think your 'sexiness' or whatever you want to call it made me uncomfortable? It was your creepy 'I'm going to tie you up in my basement' look that did that!" I exclaimed, making him roll his eyes.
"Yeah, yeah. Laugh it up. I know the truth!" he said as he finally backed away from me and sat down.
I wiped the tears from my eyes and sat down beside him.
"So where's Sara?"
"...Sara?" he asked with confusion etched across his features.
"Um... your mate?"
"Oh! She and Jack had a little extra to clean out of their hair. They should be here soon."
That was so weird. I guess he never really jumped for joy when he heard Sara's name, but he always seemed at least a little happy. He sounded like he had never even heard the name before.
Oop. Speak of the devil.
Sara and Jack walked in, silently arguing about who started that fight even though that's long over.
"About time! Did you see who's running detention today?" I asked.
They looked at me and smirked, sitting down.
What was that about?
Just then, that familiar scent clouded my nose.
Uh-oh.
"Hello Kacey."
