We sit in absolute silence as they start to doze off. I rest my head on his chest, listening to his steady heartbeat.
I never thought it would be him. Everything seemed so planned out already. But I'm glad the moon goddess made this mistake.

¥¥¥ Kacey's POV
Spencer and I changed back into more comfortable clothing after our outing. It was time to link back up with our friends. Everyone is in the living room besides Tyler and his friends since they're at a meeting.
"Kacey! How was your little trip?" Jay asked as Shanaya played a video game beside him.
"It was fun! I really needed to get out and do something."
Spencer scoffed as he went and stood behind Shanaya to watch her game. "Yeah. 'Fun' if you don't count the harassment."
Rocky came from the couch, ready to get into our business. "Who harassed y'all?" Rocky is the last person I would want to tell about this. Her two modes are fight or flight. We don't see the 'flight' mode very often.
I should have known Spencer would bring it up. He never lets things like this go when they involve us.
"Some girls started flirting with me. That didn't set me off too much until they started poking fun at Kacey."
He's seconds away from having steam blow out of his ears.
I'd question his anger about this situation, but I've seen him angrier when it was an incident involving Sara. Let someone mess with his mate and he's ready to murder.
Shanaya tore her focus away from her game. "Oh my goodness! What did you do?"
Spencer shook his head, looking away. "Nothing that I could have done. Everything I wanted to do would have gotten me executed."
Wow. He's still really upset about everything, isn't he?
"What exactly did they say?"
It was hard for me to answer. I've been picked on about my weight before, but it's still hard to talk about.
"Um... uh-"
"All you need to know is that they got way out of line," Spencer cut me off. Thank goodness. I really didn't want to talk about the things that they said.
Sara finally chimed in. "Kacey, all I need is a description and I'm handling this."
I love Sara. Always ready to kill someone for me.
"Sara, it's fine. They were just some immature girls without any home training. I mean, one of them was literally saying that Tyler was in love with her after flirting with Spencer. The delusion speaks for itself," I said, making the others laugh.
Sara didn't laugh, though...
I guess she really doesn't like hearing that they flirted with Spencer.
"Listen," Spencer spoke up. "Tyler will be home soon. I say we just let him know what happened and see where things go. This is his pack after all. We shouldn't risk his reputation by doing anything hasty."
Huh... it's not like him to be so rational. I thought he'd be furious that the girl said his best friend's mate was in love with her. Maybe he just sees right through her so he's not letting it get to him.
But he was right. When Tyler arrives, we'll just have to see what happens.
