Gerald POV

We all gathered around the tv in the pent house. You looked so focus and sexy walking to the cage. Your mind was completely on the battle at hand. Then it all came falling down like a demolition project. Everything will be OK started playing and Rose walked out. She looked huge compared to you in there. For the first few rounds you fought, giving her a run for her money. Yet her mind games got to you. She took you down and busted your face, blood covering the mat and your face. You couldn't see and she didn't care. Just like that her fist landed again and again at your jaw, you were limp when they pulled her off. The referee screaming at her. Dominick jumped in with your team, medics trying to wake you up. It went to commercial as my chest grew tight.

" We gotta fucking go. Pack the shit and let's get to the jet."

"Gerald."

"She's not okay!" I yelled, grabbing my duffel and tossing my things quickly in the bag. Every one else did the same before we rushed out. The jet was getting prepped as the driver guided us to the airport. I kept calling your number even though I knew you wouldn't answer.

"Gerald she's gonna be okay.... I'll try a few people." My mom mumbled before looking to the others to do the same. I tweeted Dominick and told him to call me from your phone or DM me. It was mere seconds before my phone violently buzzed.

Dom: call me (###-###-####)

I dialed the number before pressing the call button.

"Hello?"

" It's me, what's going on?" He sighed slightly you could hear the sound of monitors in the background.

"She's got bleeding in her brain so they had to drill a hole near her spine into her skull. Gerald she more than likely won't flight again. They tested Rose again right after the fight, she was pumped with steroids.... Ashley didn't even have a chance once they kicked in...." My stomach churned as I rubbed my face.

"I'm on my way I'll be there in a few hour." I hung up, wanting to toss my phone yet I squeezed it in my grasp. Once at the airport we all shuffled on the jet, the silence overwhelming us all.

"What did he say?" Grady mumbled, nudging me.

" She more than likely won't ever fight again...." It felt like a curse coming out of my lips, yet I looked out the window of the plane and took a deep breath. "They uh... Had to drill a hole in her head.... The girl she fought cheated and beat the shit out of her."

"O my gosh." My mom mumbled. I glanced over to her, she had tears in her eyes and her hand over her mouth. She knew your journey better than anyone. She'd been there through the tough times. That flight felt like it dragged on forever. As if this was a procession to a funeral. Even when it landed time crawled by like seconds into hours. I stopped outside the hospital and smoked a cigarette not even noticing Grady snap a photo.

"You ready?" Marty nudged me and I nodded slowly, walking to the front desk and clearing my throat.

"I'm here to see Ashley Davis?"

"Down the hall all the way at the end on the right."

"Thanks..." I whispered while walking away. I felt sick as if I got punched in the stomach. Dominick and Dana the owner of the UFC were sitting in the chairs outside your door. " Hey..."

" Hey... Dana this is Gerald."

" Hello." He reached out and I shook his hand before looking to the door. " We wanted to wait for you. She hasn't been awake till recently." I was the first to go in, the others trickling in behind me. Your green eyes were clouded with purple around them. A small cut on your cheek. Your hair was shaved on the lower part of your skull, but only with your hair up could you tell. Yet all I could see on your face was pain and disappointment. It only took a second to sit down and hug you, pressing a kiss to your temple as you sobbed.

"Shh I got you... I got you Ash I'm right here...." Your grip on my jacket was tight, losing me was now your biggest fear I think. After all I had to be your rock. " Hey beautiful calm down..." I grabbed a tissue and pulled away slightly, brushing your tears away.

" Hey Ashley.... How are you feeling?" Dana cracked a smile and sat down.

"I'm okay... Breathing..."

"So what's the last thing you remember?"

"I um... I remember putting my mouth guard in.... And that's it...." You flinched slightly at the thought, my hand finding yours and giving it a squeeze.

"Rose she was on steroids Ashley... So the fight doesn't count... She has been thrown out.... Obviously I'm gonna keep you in the loop sweetheart.... However we can't get you in that ring any time soon and I'll be in contact with your doctors alright?" You nodded slowly as he stood and flashed another smile. "Call me if you need anything... Anything at all alright?"

"Thanks Dana..." Your voice trailed off as you looked around the room. " How did you all get here? You all were in New York. I mean Dominick I remember you being there but...."

" We flew here... I didn't want you being alone. None of us did." I laid beside you, your head settling on my chest. "You're gonna be okay..."

"He's not telling me the truth is he..." You whispered. "Dana isn't gonna let me fight ever again..."

" We don't know that yet Ash... The doctors have to do some more tests...." He stood and squeezed your foot. "Get some rest alright? I'll bring you some snacks tomorrow. I know hospital food blows."

"Thanks Dom." A sigh escaped you and it wasn't long before you were fast asleep.
