Ashley POV

"Miss Davis... As your doctor I'm not advising you fight... I'm not saying you can't and I will sign your release forms.... However you have to understand if you get hit extremely hard anywhere near the spot where the doctors drilled a hole in your skull you could die, seize, or go into a coma.... You're a mother now Miss Davis... You need to consider everything at stake." I took a deep breath and looked through the glass door of her office to the waiting room. There you sat, talking to the toddler who was sitting on your lap, smiling and laughing now and then.

"I know... And I have...." I looked back at her before taking a deep breath. "I want to fight." She sighed and reluctantly signed the paper before handing it to me.

"I don't want to be able to say I told you so Miss Davis... Also..." She handed me another paper. " Your other forms you requested. Gerald Earl Gillum will have the power over yours and Kamden's medical decisions if the situation presents itself... I hope you know the decision your making."

"Yes I do..." I took the papers and stood, shoving them in the folder with the other paper work I had collected over the past days. I walked out of her office and squeezed your shoulder. "Ready?"

"Yeah... I'm running late for rehearsal though." I cursed under my breath before taking Kamden from you.

"I'm so sorry... I told you that you didn't have to come." You chuckled and snakes your lanky arm around my torso as we got into the elevator.

"It's okay babe. I know you needed to focus in there." Your lips pressed against my temple, this was all still so different, yet normal. It was like the old times. We didn't leave each other's side and with Kamden you treated him like your own. You told him stories about his daddy and never seemed to take enough credit for everything you were doing. It all reminded me of the conversation you and I had years ago. The conversation that nearly tore us apart

(Flashback)

I walked into the club, sighing softly as I sat down at the bar and listened to you rapping on stage. My head was throbbing from this evening of my own performances, DJing in the city paid well, but with it came hours of loud thumping. I glanced to you and forced a smile before pointing to the ceiling. You winked and I managed a laugh before grabbing the drink served to me and heading up the stairs. It was our spot, like a personal little hide out from the world. The weather was warm as it tickled my skin, my eyes scanning over the night sky once I sat down.

"You're early." You mumbled once walking out and joining me. "I'm glad you got to see me up there, was I good?" I glanced to you and nodded with a smile. You sat down and pulled me to your side as we leaned against the brick wall.

" Yeah Ger...."

"You've got something on your mind?" You whispered before taking a swig of your beer.

"I can't wait to get out of the bay... Think about it... You'll be rapping and I'll be fighting... We can get married one day... Have some kids." You chuckled and nudged me.

"We both know neither of us want kids or marriage. You're funny ash." My stomach knotted as I forced out a laugh and looked the other way.

" Yeah I know..." I mumbled standing, holding back the emotions.

"Ash... Are you upset?"

"Nah I'm good G... I'm going home I'm pretty tired." You stood and grabbed my arm, turning me to face you.

"Ash you can't be fucking serous right now... You actually want kids and a marriage? All that fake shit."

" No Gerald! Fucking forget about it... Or should I call you G...." I scoffed and tugged my arm away before walking to the door.

"Ash..." You whispered, yet I ignored it and ran down the stairs, the door closing behind me. I should have known that sooner or later we'd come to an end. Just not the way it actually did end.

(End of Flashback)

We went back to the venue, your rehearsal going by in a flash since my mind was somewhere else. It was only when we got back to the hotel penthouse did my mind snap out of it. The music bumping as the party started.

"Stop worrying..." You whispered and kissed my neck. " Please? Grady is gonna force a drink down your throat." I chuckled weakly hand turned around from standing in the doorway.

"I could snap Grady like a twig." A smirk crossed my lips before I adjusted the collar of your leather jacket.

"Have a little fun... Kamden is safe with the sitter in the hotel room down one floor and my mom is there too cause she isn't feeling well... So please.... Please... Just a little fun?"

"Okay... But no drugs near me... I need to pass my tests and if I don't I'm coming to kick someone's ass." I poked your chest as you bit your lip in a smirk.

"I promise...The party is probably just starting so let me grab you a drink." You walked off as Grady came over, lighting a cigarette.

"I'm glad you two are back together.... He loves you... He always has Ash."

" Yeah... Sometimes I'm scared he'll lose himself again... Grady..?"

" Yeah...?"

" If something happens to me in the ring... I need you to make sure he's okay. That he doesn't lose himself and Kamden doesn't have anyone there for him." Grady took a long drag.

"Don't say shit like that... You'll be okay ash I know your skills. Though of course you know I've got your back. I'll keep an eye on him if God forbid anything where to happen to you. Kamden has a whole family including me and the gang. He'll be raised right." I cracked a smile as I looked back over to you. Your eyes locked on me as you smiled. This felt like the right time or so I thought.
