Ryan, Tuesday 3:30 pm

Calum talked to my on the phone about what was going on. He said Mali was in a car accident on the way to a friend's house after the date. I panicked. It was after school and he was supposed to pick me up. He found out before me and took the car to be with her. I couldn't blame him. I took the bus and got there as quick as I could.

I found the room and rushed in. Fast but silently, because I didn't want to disturb her or anyone else. I saw she was awake with tears welling in her eyes. Calum was in a chair by her bed. He was holding her hand and had tears down his face. Then she turned to me and smiled. He smiled too and came to hug me. I hugged him back and wiped the tears off his cheeks.

"How are you doing Mal?" I asked her quietly. She shrugged and looked at her lap.

"I'm alive. I'm fine."

"I'm sor-" I started. But I was cut off by Jayson rushing in. He didn't even bother to be quiet like I did. I saw the shock still evident in his bright eyes.

"Mali." He said just over a whisper. "Mali!" He repeated, this time louder.

"Jay." She smiled back at him. A tear fell down his cheek, then one down hers. He hugged her tightly then he pecked her in her lips sweetly she deepened the kiss. I smiled because she deserves this a whole lot. Calum coughed to get our attention, and then getting it. I smirked at him and his 'protective brother' actions.

"Sorry Cal." She said with a smirk before kissing Jayson again. He huffed and I rubbed his back, still slightly smiling. He hugged me while pouting. I would've kissed him if his mom wasn't in the room. He almost leaned in, but I put my hand on his chest stopping him. I subtly motioned towards Joy. His eyes widened and we both slowly turned our heads our heads to us.

She was already looking at us with a smug grin on her face.

"Uh... mom." He said his eyes still wide and open. She just laughed.

"Cal, I'm not dumb." She shook her head. "I knew for a while now." I blushed.

"Really?" I asked quietly. I turned to Mali who was nodding. I shook my head.

Joy continued,  "Yes. Just know I'm not ready to be a grandmother yet. That goes for you too dear." She said pointing and Mali.

"Don't worry." I smiled, "I'm not ready to me a mother." I chuckled.

"Me neither Mom." Mali smiled.

"Good." Joy said with a nod.

"Anyway, when are you allowed to leave?" I asked Mali.

"Uh tomorrow I think." She said. I nodded,

"That's good." I smiled.

"I mean I feel fine, but I guess they just wanna make sure." She shrugged. "Any way, I'm pretty tired, so if you don't mind I'm gonna nap."

"No worries. We'll probably take off while your asleep though. I hope you'll be good, see ya." I said.

She yawned. "See ya."
